Momma maybe fav song of 2015
Someone on IDMf mentioned Audio Damage is making a stomp box of their Fluid chorus.
I am interest.
Really having to fight the urge on the Minilogue. That thing looks too well-made and capable for the asking price. My Mininova would gladly give up its desk spot for a compact, knobby analog alternative.
The A4 bug has hit me again.
^I’ve been fighting the GAS myself… Not least with the Mother-32.
^ Yeah Josker, sounds like a nice setup!
Just ordered a Machinedrum SPS-1+UW MkII TMI+TLA_SoL. It’s not even here yet and already I’m starting to lust for a Monomachine.
Back in the day when I was into drums and had a lot of money to spare, I almost constantly kept buying and selling very expensive drumkits and snare drums, vintage, high end new and custom built boutique stuff alike. At one time I had 6 kits and 14 snare drums in my practice room. I guess I embraced the illusion of ‘the more diverse your arsenal is the better player you are’. In my case, that wasn’t true, I wasn’t getting any better with all the pro gear. The moral of the story? Not much. Because the thing with synths, drum machines, etc. is that they DO open up different directions in the creational flow, at least that’s how I see it. So, I’ve had this new kind of GAS again for a couple of years, though I can somewhat keep it under control. The number one rule is that anything I don’t use on a regular basis must go. Rule nr. 2 is “don’t buy more of the same type of instrument if you don’t need more (i.e. yet another monophonic analog just because it looks and obviously sounds so darn good), especially if your gear is as good as the one you’re lusting for”. That’s about it. That said, I know if had much more money than I do, I’d for sure buy several things I don’t actually need, only want them so frickin much…like the new Dave Smith OB-6 or three Moog Mother 32’s, just to name a couple… so it’s back to square one I guess.
Actually, the high number of apparently cool toys just killed it for me.
I want the OB-6 just to play the Airwolf theme on (was done on some kind of Oberheim).
It also sounds sexy as fuck imo.

I love my Volcas and will almost certainly be adding a Volca FM to the team.
Yeah. This little box, and especially Cuckoo’s awe at the sounds he could get from it, just raised the GAs level damn high
post Namm gas report: OP-Z, Volca FM must cop, glad they aren’t out yet for my wallets sake. Cop’d the New POs despite resisiting for a couple of days, too bad for my wallet they didn’t sell out this time. Minilogue actually sounds pretty damn thin, not too impressed by the sound. Roland where that sampler at? Maybe messe? For some reason I’ve decided I want a Moog Mother which I just found out is back ordered for months.
Hehe… Looking forward to listen to your PO tracks
For some reason I was not very pleased by these, maybe someone will show me I’m wrong but I have yet to see a video that would convince me.
After attending namm… Gassing for 4ms SMR, strymon modular, yarns, and another 6u case. Lol I’m in trouble. Korg minilogue did sound pretty thin(zero gas). Opz - meh… Po’s - not that interesting. missed the Volca fm… Namm gets crazy crowded. Lol. The mother32 was really fun to mess around with (slight gas), make noise zero coast was cool too.
Really liking the Volca FM, and resisting the Futuresonus Parva now that it’s available outside Kickstarter is hard. It sounds really good and is a nice and compact analog poly (or mono, you choose $500 mono and price scales up to 8-voices for $1000). Plus four envelopes, four LFOs, and USB Host?
I have an Analog Keys but eight voices sure would be nice to have sometimes. And $1000 is a lot cheaper than $3000 for one of Dave Smith’s offerings. Still, an OB-6 would be fun to have, too, if I had the space (and I don’t atm).
Not buying anything right now either way.
So then I read it can do variable width saw waves like the Alpha Junos, and @djthomaswhite posted a demo on their message board with a hoover.
I bet I can fund half the purchase by selling my MKS-50 hehe.
Also support is pretty quick to respond to questions, and the envelopes should be plenty slow for my needs.
I aim to buy nothing before the Volca FM is out.
Korg just keeps winning NAMM imo, when it comes to synths. Arturia is really milking the 'Brute line hard it seems.
