Sadly, both user manuals were updated with online formatting only. The little book pages are there but it’s all on one big page. I wish TE would consistently create PDF versions. Barbaric!
I have a TX-6. I’m happy about the extended gain range and the beat detect for USB input. I rarely mess with the synth in the TX-6, I find it too hard to use.
I don’t have the TP-7, I wonder what mixdown mode is about?
sick update. tons of great additions for the tp and tx! mix down is sick in that you can:
play a multitrack file on the tp7 and mix it in realtime on the tx6 while also having that live mix be simultaneously recorded to a new file ON the tp7! pretty legendary.
It says that the user manuals were updated, but I can’t find anything on pattern chaining, portamento setting or midi synth generator in the guide?
Does anyone know where that info is to be found?
edit: I didn’t realize that I can’t use ctrl-f to search for terms, so I guess the infos are in the respective sections and I’ll just look for it there… d’oh
The update itself is awesome, TX-6 has been one of my fav pieces of audio gear since it came out and I use it in pretty much every project.
yeah that stuff isn’t in the manual. i really spent time reading it and its not in there. i will try to find out and post here. i think if you save the manual as an image, most computers now can search from text in an image so the ctrl f should work.
just from my own experimentation it works like this:
pattern chaining:
– when seq is enabled, each of the 6 ch/voice has up to 4 patterns you can assign and chain. if you go to the page for each voice where the seq pattern used to be defined on the old firmware, you can now see 4 pages and you just click down on select encoder to select each one and assign
portamento: click down on the select encoder button on any of the synth voices to set a portamento range from 0-99 (sine wave, sawtooth etc)
midi synth gen: i dunno what this means but i think this means that the synth and seq now can send midi note data out via usb
