USB Noise on EP-133

I’m trying to record some tracks off of my K.O. II into Ableton live. I’ve found two YT videos that show how to do it and they both work -except- every time I connect the USB cable to my computer I get a ton of noise.

Setup 1:
MIDI Sync Out → Focusrite Scarlett
Output → Focusrite Scarlett
USB-C → MacBook Pro M1

Setup 2:
Output → Focusrite Scarlett
USB-C → MacBook Pro M1

In both situations if I disconnect the USB cable the noise goes away. I’ve tried a variety of USB cables, from simple ones up to high speed thunderbolt cables. I’ve tried different USB ports on the Mac and going through a CalDigit Thunderbolt hub.

I have had no other problems like this anywhere. I have recorded audio into the MacBook through the same inputs on the Focusrite and there’s no noise.

I put the isolator that came with my OP-Z on the output line and it got rid of the noise as long as there was no audio going through. As soon as the audio starts, the noise is there with it.

It seems to definitely be the USB connection. Unfortunately that connection seems to be essential to get Ableton to get the sync signal from the K.O. II

Anyone got any ideas on where it’s coming from and/or how to get rid of it?
