What's up with Teenage Engineering ? šŸ¤”

Okay, if I had fuck you money I would absolutely buy the TP-7 and the Fluevog Star Trek shoes and fucking rock some Spock ears right in front of my VP.

It is

I’ll admit that before using TE i had this prejudice…my initial foray into electronics was guitar pedals and dj gear

I hate phono/rca connectors and prefer 1/4" ports whenever possible but technically there is little difference unless you’re leaning into audiophile territory (wrestling with balancing/impedance etc)

For musician simply trying to make professional quality recordings, the mini jack ports on OPZ and all other TE gear I’ve used are exceptional.

Regarding Z specifically, I now have ZM4 line module for routing but primarily used the built-in port for sampling before that. I’d also have it linked to ableton as a simple stereo soundcard and never had issues with hum or buzzing. I like the converters

Z compares favorably with my other modern samplers and never feels like a step down in quality even though i haven’t done detailed analysis of specs to understand how or why that is

:hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed: awesomeness!! thank you so much for the confirmation :kissing_heart:
Highly appreciated

I listened to the engines on TE page (each one going through a scale) and I feel at the core sound they cover has a large range and sound nice …

Yet for some reason most tracks (like +90%) I listen to (with full synth sound design) come out way to simple and toy like, sound great for Cooko guy, he did an amazing live act on a Z … but not so great if you want a deep serious sounding patches…

My tip to TE would be to add great deal of modulations behind the engines (set to random subliminal (Just below audible and amount often tide to re triggering and velocity

This way you don’t need added layers of synth pages, and can contain a huge variety of synth power with just OSC, Filter and Envelope presets …

I could fill a 100 post with recommendations… but right now its just hard to justify buying one. New ones seam like B stock or returned (or at least Im reading reports on the same problems used ones have) …used market has many listings (large part listing problems)…

So it seams that HW failure is a destitute rather than a maybe…

Anyways thanks so much for the feedback, I keep myself open to grabb one if the right opportunity comes along …:loud_sound::loud_sound::v::hamsa::sparkles::two_hearts:

why wouldn’t that work? How dare you destroying my dreams!

tldr

TE needs to do a collaboration with Monome on a 37 key synthesizer that expands upon the OP1 includes alternative firmwares and potentially light up jelly keys. Just saying.

edit: and more capable midi and cv compatibility… wtf. Can I have a job?
