When did you get your OP-1?

That would be nice. Hopefully it doesn’t start smelling of patchouli and mooching off me.

April 24th, 2012. Used almost every day since!

TE002-000047
Ordered from TE in Jan 2011, received March 2011.

Came with beta OS. No text on the bottom other than the embossed logo. Doesn’t have OP-1 logo on the front.

Still going strong =)

@knuddelmaus I guess yours is the oldest one recorded in this thread! How come you just joined the forum today?

Got it 2 years ago and sold it last night (for roughly the same). Now looking forward to The Deluge

@punji Just found this forum while looking for news on the OP-Z

Got mine sometime in April 2012, SN: TE002-002738. Does that make me #11 here? Can’t remember where I ordered it from. I do know I bought studio monitors a month later from Amazon so that was my reference date

About to reach out to them for some repair work, have checked all settings, tried factory reset, & a full charge. Sound is extremely faint (barley a whisper) out of speakers, neither line in, out, or the microphone work. The USB port works fine and if I record a track blind the audio is present both on track and tape. Goes without saying that the radio feature does not function either.

I did my best 30 second impression of trying to make a noise as if I could hear it, then uploaded the file: https://soundcloud.com/sneakyness/my-op1-is-broken-and-im-sad-about-it

I was poking at what I could on the output board with my buddy’s scope and it doesn’t seem like the signal is even making it there so I’m assuming ribbon cable or worse. Voltages seemed correct on that Shift+1 screen

Definitely buying an OPZ. I just need my baby back first

2015 I think. From robotspeak. Airtle synth shop in San Francisco

1472 somewhere 2011 straight from TE
yeah, the battery is dead and tomorrow I am going to replace it with a new one…
and yeah! I found an internal antenna connector, the ones that you connect wifi antenna’s to, like on the 8266 based Arduino’s.

Just got my through reverb today!

Seller said, “The OP-1 was ordered on 12/16/19. It was purchased directly from TE store”
on board clock looked like it was manufactured in 2018

serial number: T9XKD3RM

Bought my direct from TE November 2020

Serial #: T9BNNASA

Got from www.thomannmusic.no in january 2021

Serial: T9BNNA3F

We have the same batch. Have you noticed how in some modes (i.e. in tombola) there is a “little piece” of the notes popping on top when they fall down? I think is a glitch

I have not noticed that yet but will keep an eye out. Thanks!

Hey, has anyone figured out what these 2016-ish T9YFxxxx serial numbers mean? I see several posted back in 2016. Someone suggested that it was to prevent tracking production dates. It seems like that might not be the case, since newer production models went back to the TE-xxxxxx convention.

I have T9YFL4DD, although I am not sure of the production date. I know it’s old because I bought it second hand in 2020 and the guy I got it from bought it second hand. He had it for quite a while himself. As noted by others, the serial for these are on a piece of paper taped to the box. You can see where the scotch tape is torn. Are the serials on all the boxes attached the same way?
OP1-T9YFL4DD
There’s only 5 mentioned, all in 2016. This seems like it could be an interesting rabbit hole.
Edit: I should’ve searched harder. There’s 9 T9xxxxxx scattered throughout the years.

Another new convert! Bought one new from Amazon last week.

Ever so slightly baffled by these serial numbers however, as mine bears no resemblance to anything here: T9YFB249 - say what? I’d be doubting that I was looking in the right place, did it not say serial no. next to it on the overlay / box.

Any suggestions?

I’ve got a new one that says: serial no: T9YFD2TW, with a little black sticker on the back of the box.
I tried opening the little lid on the back with a guitar pick but it’s way to tight to wedge it in and I don’t want to damage the OP.

So, it looks like TE has changed the OP-1 serial number format to avoid giving away information about its production/sales figures…

Probably the serials would be TE002/T9Y/T9Z/T9X … in order from older to newer.
