Zont Synthesizer

@rotallytuined not at all, got this from another forum myself as well

It does come with four cartridges out of the box @punji but they do mention artist collaborations to sell more. But then again it gives them a revenue stream outside selling more Zonts

looks like a complete po ripoff to be honest…

If they give a little more space between the encoders I’d be all over it. Speaking of… I really wish TE would have used encoders instead of pots on the POs. If you have a screen, I can’t see a reason to use pots, they cost the same.
Maybe that’s just me?

Price point will make or break this new synth, hopefully they won’t get greedy. A lot to choose from these days.

I agree encoders on the PO 's would have been a better choice. Plus a switch! And we know TE is good with encoders (the op1 uses them). The po’s pots seem to select presets more then morph between sounds. So encoders would have been fine. But really I just like encoders. Lol.

Considering how hard it is to make a hardware product (remember the still-unreleased KDJ-ONE?) this has little to no credibility at this point.

@el_wombato I remember that thing! Looks like it’s all dreams man!
I was quite excited about the ZONT, now I wish I never clapped eyes on it.
No mention of an onboard sequencer though so I’m not heartbroken.

CDM has a nice interview with the creator of Zont:

The creator sounds 'driven' so hopefully he will have something to show soon, prototype etc. I did spot this but then couldn't find it again! Pricing seems relatively cheap, hope it stays that way. Time will tell.

Beautiful synth, this should be a nice OP-1 companion

If he can deliver the device/dock/4 carts for $250 then I’m sold!
