Battle 24

I made some pretty bad mistakes with mine and I’ve been in salvage /fix / cover-up mode for a couple of sessions now. Not sure whether to persevere or abandon and start again!

i just lost my almost finished entry because of a weird bug :frowning:

will try to start again tomorrow. nice stuff so far

Not sure what I think of mine! Anyways, here it is:

I used the Digital synth engine and a clip of a local weather report which included the words “south east of England”.

I like that @yoof .deffo has a UK vibe about it (d&b). Drums are punchy. I listened to it on an iPod so couldn’t hear any bass.

Cheers @Spheric_El, appreciated

@dimi3 your volume was fine on my iPod,same as everyone else’s .great to hear a track by you -totally out there (like in the middle of infinity).quite a daring entry ,I like difference.hardcore cut ups audio splicing.

I think it’s the unusual frequencies that may confuse people @dimi3,the sub (space)rumbles.on listen back it may have a slightly lower perceived level but the dynamics made sense to me.

@yoof I like. Very aphex-twin-y, especially the shift in theme right in the middle.

Got to mention both @DOZr and @adrigax -skills.

Here’s mine:

The radio sample’s from a local station in Southwestern Finland a week ago. It says “At last it’s warmer here in Finland”, but in Swedish, since it’s a predominantly Swedish-speaking region. Hope that’s enough location identification! =)

The rest of the track was made today in one sitting, while sitting on a ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki. It must’ve been about 35 degrees Celsius in the ferry, hence the title of the track (värmare = warmer). The synths are all FM.

Really looking forward to giving the other entries a listen!

here we gooooo!

I realized after this take that the mix was a bit bass-heavy. whateva, I didn’t feel like doing any significant post-processing outside the op-1 (besides normalizing and trimming)

Haha, that’s truly awesome @beefinator! Kept me smiling the whole way through. Skilks!

Funky stuff @vehka. Loved the subtle-to-manic grid ending

Great tune @yoof, loved the airy beats and the glissando sound thing. =)

Yeah, @beefinator, your song is really infectious, especially the B-part and the buildup!

Ok now some work, I’ll listen to the rest later. =)

Nice rules! I wish I had time to join in!! Nooo tiiimeee!

Didn’t think I would make this battle, but here goes:

Synths are all String. Our local PBS affiliate is WNYC, so I just used a station ID, considering it literally says NYC in the name.

Late but finally a new Battle song! I used the String engine, samples from the radio are from Radio Alex (Alex is a famous place here with the TV Tower) mostly. The girl has a little Berlin accent. So enjoiy! I have to listen to all the entries now…
Made an update! with a better structure and less bass…

@beefinator -you lived up to your name there, strong entry.Up there with the best of em.

The standard is really high and hard to call so far.Good rules led to great tracks…

Mustn’t forget @vehka & @Mixrasta (nice electro skank) and the other recent entries. Its been like buying a really nice, experimental new compilation.Every track is good.Cant wait to hear any late comers.Which I’m expecting…

nice and inspiring stuff i heard here.

so here is mine.
it is my first battle i joined and it was pretty hard to do everything only with op1, but good practise and fun, hope u enjoy.

Rushing to meet the deadline!

Here’s my track “Paradise in the valley” using STRING synth and the local weather forecast for Northern California that mentions a city called “Paradise” near me.

On a side note, it was 97F/36C and sunny in Paradise
