Elektron Digitone

Also would be great if they made the custom arp settings ‘latchable’ while switching presets. And vice versa… From what I read the arp setting is saved with patch. Which is cool, better for me than the AK implementation where arp is saved with kit. But would be ideal to also have a dedicated bank for user arps too…

I preordered the Digitone yesterday…I have to admit, the fact that it will look so great sitting next to my Digitakt did play into that decision

Does the sequencer allow for held notes through polyphonic chord shape transitions?
My AK has 'normal' behaviour (in live rec I can sequence static notes alongside changed notes)

Not sure what you mean by that, could you explain a bit more and I’ll try it out? It’s really nice having 8 note polyphony on Digitone’s midi tracks, rather than 4 on the other Elektrons.

Agree it would be cool if the arp was latchable while browsing patches, but probably not possible as arp is saved with the patch. I’m using the Keystep arp/seq for that instead which is pretty similar to endless.

Like for example on the AK step sequencer I can hold a chord shape and descend one note and it works perfectly. Guess an obvious example is strawberry fields intro…

Can’t do this on the OT midi track sequencer. Held notes get killed when new ones arrive. Maybe user error on my part or I’m missing something obvious? But pretty sure it’s just a limitation of the OT sequencer?

Yeah Endless rules! Use my op1 a lot lately just for arp/endless/finger in to iPad. Would love to see more hardware synths have dedicated arp/sequence banks to save/load custom arps etc in to sound patches. Like the way its implemented in some softsynths like Sunrizer.

looks like B&H has the digitone in stock if anyone is looking…

Mine arrived at work today (very early! I only ordered it yesterday!); it has been a very slow day. aaaaargh

I re-created the Doom E1M1 music and OPL3 instruments, then had a bit of a play, mashing them into something else..

Awesome!!!

Sorry to spam this thread, but the Digitone is inspiring me to make videos.

Had a little idea this morning, what about sending two different external instruments to the left and right inputs respectively? You could pan both of them to centre (I think)

Any more thoughts on good ways to record the Digitone?

I’m fine with stereo mix for the moment. That said, I bought it so I could make full tracks on it… maybe paired with my Nord Lead or Modular G1; so my use case is maybe different to those who like to track everything out separately.
