If there is a small 3.5mm adapter to swap stereo, everyone’s A-or-B issues should be resolved.
Posted in another thread but trying to figure this out ASAP so apologies for double posting:
Looking for help syncing EP-133 and OP1F. I’d like to use the EP 133 to start and stop the Field, but the kicker is that Im trying to do this over 3.5mm since I need the USB C port open to plug my Apogee Jam into for my guitar. Pretty easy to get the sync going over USB C, not so much over 3.5mm, I was trying for a minute last night and couldn’t figure out which settings I needed to have configured to make this happen. Any help is appreciated!
Maybe a usb hub would for you in this scenario so you could use both over USB. I don’t think Sync works well on the OP-1F if you’re really trying to maximize the sound on the device, it’s a wonky implementation imo
u mean like this?

Another approach is to take a standard 3.5mm cable, cut it in half and rejoin it with the left and right channels swapped over. If you have some of that heat shrink seal stuff as well it makes a neat job.
I did this so that I can play my Tracker Mini from my OPZ with just one cable.
Got it today. Everything works. I didn’t even bother installing the fader knob after sensing resistance. The other ones popped in effortlessly. Now it’s time do dive in.
My local retailer finally got my RMA sorted but they are not getting replacements from TE until mid-January at the earliest Now I have to decide if I want to try fixing the speaker or just return it for a new unit
You should be able to tighten the screws without voiding your warranty - although it would be understandable if you’d go for a RMA. There is no guarantee that the fix will last.
For everyone worried about installing the fader knob: don’t bother and get yourself a minifigure head: they fit smoothly and look cool af!
Received mine today and was able to put the fader knob on without issue ( quite relieved after all the chatter ). I can see why people have had issues though - honestly they should just ship it with the knobs on it was an uncomfortable amount of pressure to have to put to get them on. Other than that though it’s awesome so far - very intuitive workflow was up and running in no time
That’s exactly it! I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that it was already being sold.
Nice!
is anyone aware of a little diagnostic test i can run through to ensure there are no issues with the ep133? there are just so many lights and functions that it might be helpful, if anyone is aware, of a shortlist of little tests one could do to ensure their unit is in good working order upon arrival. thanks!
There are no such tool at the moment. But you can already take a tour of the following things in order to insure your unit is fully functional :
- check the fader (up/down, no wiggling and should be straight up, not bent in any direction)
- check the speaker
- check the internal mic
- check the ins/outs
- check that all the lights on the screen do light up
- slightly press the front gray plastic plate and see if, applying a slight pression, any value changes on the screen (as this would ne be a normal behavior)
- check that the USB-C port is functional
- check any keys for any defect (numbers should resemble those of a calculator, from bottom to top, not top to bottom; plastic flash that keeps some pads and buttons to fully come back to their initial position)
- check the screen plastic protector for any scratches
- check the on/off button behavior (should not request much force to be operated)
- check that each pad is responsive and that the pressure sensors work (basically, load a punch-in FX and press harder to hear more of the FX)
That should do it for now.
Then, there are software bugs, but these are something else entirely.
Here’s hope it helps.
Best practice, anyways, is to check the unit while filming. Always.
Does the EP-133 allow pattern (I guess called scene) chaining to build a track, like pattern chaining in the OP-Z?
Not at the moment, you have to manually switch scenes. But it is easy and quick to do so, I actually really like that workflow for performing a song.
Thank you for confirming. I was hoping it could pattern chain as I like to structure a track ahead of time to repeatedly play on top of it with other instruments for live performances. I guess I’ll stick with the op-z and follow how the ep-133 progresses. Hope they add this in the future as I like the rhythm centric design of it.
patterns can be up to 99 bars long soooo u could also just make 1 long ass pattern instead of chaining
i know not exactly the same
but it might also get u there
Works like a charm over here syncing field with KO ii over USB.
Yeah usb works great, that’s why I recommended the usb hub (because the person also needed a usb guitar interface plugged in)
The wonky implementation I was referring to was the PO style sync that comes out of the left (or right, I can’t remember) channel of the audio output on the field. I have used it on the original op-1 too and even then it was wonky because it relegated the audio output to mono so the other channel can be for the sync, not ideal.
Anyone successfully using a USB hub to sync the following -
OP-1 field (leader)
OP-z (follower)
KO II (follower)
If so, any latency, which hub are you using ?
