Ok, here’s the beginning, sorry that it took so long. It’s all based on a single synth patch, attached, if you want to mess with it. The “movement” of the sound happens by turning the green knob clockwise in the tremolo screen. Hope it’s not too quiet! My faders were at 80, feel free up them if it feels not loud enough?

a question, might be relevant to others…:
what’s the “proper” way to migrate a tape to the OP-1? I’ve never actually tried before, and it seems I did it not quite right?
I’m on a Mac, and did:
- plug in OP-1, open disk mode
- (copy backup of stuff I currently had on tape)
- copy the 4 downloaded tape tracks, select “replace” in Finder.
- copy the 1 patch into the “snapshots” folder on the OP-1
- eject the OP-1 “drive”
Then the OP-1 went to a black screen, unresponsive to any keys or power switch actions. I had to unplug USB (heard a small pop from the speaker), then toggle power.
On bootup, I got some messages about “new tape file found…” or something. Seems to be all OK, but definitely doesn’t seem like the “right” results.
also, I put @vehka 's files into a dedicated folder, thinking it would be good for organization.
but maybe that’ll fill up Drive space too quickly, and maybe we only need to keep the latest one.
Could also zip up previous work, it’ll compress a bunch (since the aiff is largely blank space right now)
It’s good to keep the different versions, as far as possible.
Compression is a good idea, besides it makes downloading last version faster
I thus suggest everyone put their contribution (tape files and patches) in a zip named like this:
“00. Operator name”
I would have to test to be sure, but IIRC it’s better to delete the track files first, and then copy the new ones to replace them. After an eject, there’s should be am automatic reboot of the OP-1 OS. Perhaps the OP-1 OS does not detect the new track files if you did the replace thingy instead of a delete + copy. I might be wrong here though.
I think I haven’t gotten an unresponsive UI when replacing track files.

This track sounds like it’s gonna be very meditative. I like that, may I say.
Lately I’ve been listening to the remastering of Eno’s Apollo soundtrack, and thought about participating to last OP-1 Battle “No drums” (I won’t make it, but still).
Pretty interesting to see how this fits my late ambiant mood

…or then it gets crazy intensive with breakcore drums and whatnot, who knows? The beauty of collaboration. =)
So excited! In the First collab we used to include a mixdown of the present state of the track so that everyone who’s interested could listen to it without having to put all the files onto their OP-1. Also I remember being thrilled when a new contribution had arrived and I could listen to it on my way to work. What do you guys think?
