I think we can all guarantee we aren’t getting an update.
I’ve stopped 5 or 6 people in the past few months from buying any TE gear. They’ve all thanked me.

i will uncharacteristically engage in a gentleman’s bet with you that we will get an update. whoever loses must provide a 4 bar drum loop. whoever wins adds a bassline to it.

I hope this doesn’t come across as rude or disrespectful—Teenage Engineering deserves full credit for the OP-1 Field, which I truly enjoy using. That said, and considering it’s been 14 years since the original OP-1 was released, I wonder if it might be possible to implement an anti-aliasing filter (such as a 4th-order Butterworth filter) when playing back samples at pitches lower than their original note.
I’m not pointing fingers—many widely used software tools have overlooked fundamental principles of sampling theory for decades. Still, the distortion caused by spectral aliasing can become quite noticeable and limiting.
To put it simply: if a sample recorded at Fe = 44.1kHz is played back at half speed (one octave lower), a theoretical low-pass filter at (Fe/2)/2 is needed. A 4th-order Butterworth filter with a cutoff around (Fe/3)/2 would attenuate aliasing effectively.

this is really neat. i never knew that. i would submit a feature request to TE about it if you feel strongly. they’ve implemented 1-2 things i emailed them about. worth a shot a least!
Done: I’ve just submitted a detailed bug report describing the phenomenon, its root cause, and how to eliminate it by applying a low-pass filter with a cutoff frequency adapted to the formula: Fc = 22.05 kHz × 2^(-n/12) for n semitones. I hope the explanation is clear enough for the support team to understand and address the issue.
That said, I have other bug reports to submit regarding the unexpected deletion of files and folders in certain situations.

The request was submitted to support on November 12th, and I received an acknowledgment via email. Then, this morning, support followed up to thank me and confirm that all the necessary materials had been forwarded to the engineering team for feasibility assessment. Fingers crossed — it’s quite frustrating for a sampler not to transpose pitches properly.
As I’m getting older, my hearing no longer picks up high frequencies as well, which makes me less sensitive to aliasing. Still, that’s no excuse not to hope for proper filtering to eliminate this issue.

Well, here we are nearing the end of the year and still no update to their flagship device for a year and a half. That’s crazy to me.
My prediction……IF (and that’s a huge if) we get an update this year, it will be some half azzed update or they will wait till the last day just to be some A-holes about it.
Any other predictions?
You are right and it sets a really bad precedent to abandon a product at this price point too quickly. Hoping they do step up.
