I just drag short mono 16bit 44.1KHz was samples to the keys. Didn't try with other formats. Never had any troubles.
Bizarrely I can’t drag single files, but it works with folders or multiple files. Great tool though.

Ah, I never actually tried with single files now that you mention it…
Guess I’ll try it again
Yep, I have an SD card in there all the time where I keep my OP-1 files. Connect, move / rename / copy files, disconnect, done. :-)
sweet ! I know what I’m gonna ask for Christmas…
Hey! New to the community here, just wanted to confirm that a simple USB OTG cable works like a charm to connect the OP-1 to my android phone. Got the cable in the bag at all times, makes it a lot easier to work with different projects:) Feels great to finally become an Operator!
Talking about renaming snapshots in another thread : how do you guys rename your snapshots ?
Huh? If I remember correctly I can listen to the snapshots on PC before renaming (Windows 10, iTunes or Ableton).
I’m on Yosemite.
I make a list on a notepad as I go along. You can preview sampler patches on a computer but not the other synth patches.
That’s it, and it makes sense : sampler preview, OK.
Ah! Thought you meant drum sampler patches. I mostly work with those. With synth I’m severely disorganized. @ghostly606 has a great idea. With the notepad you can save the patch, make a note of it’s name in the OP-1 and jot down a quick description. Later go back to the Mac and name it.

Of course. I should be doing that!
Found another way to do some fatter detuned sound or maybe supersaw style sounds. I think it don't have been mentioned in this thread (or i just missed it?).First way mentioned here was to layer several detuned takes to the tape and then throw it to sampler. Can be created some good sounds that way, but you can't tweak parameters live at this case.I've found another trick:
- Choose your synth engine. For good example demo i chosen cluster synth with all parameters tweaked to the left, no FX, no LFO.
- Make sure you are in POLY mode.
- Choose Sketch sequencer.
- Press "C" note on keyboard to be in tune.
- With blue encoder make straight horizontal line from left to right.
- Return cursor to beginning with the white encoder.
- Make just one click to the left with green encoder. The goal is to subtle change the pitch.
- Make another horizontal line from left to right.
- Return to beginning again with white knob.
- Make two clicks to the right with green encoder. I think you already got the idea.
- Make third line. You should see something like one fat horizontal line.
- With Shift + green set "/4" value. It will make note longer before it start to repeat.
- Switch to synth or tape mode and just play on keyboard. Yuippee!
With this method you lose sequencer and can't play very long notes as they start to repeat at the end of sequence, but you have free fx slot and can tweak synth live. With Nitro filter and Element LFO (source = envelope, dest = nitro cutoff frequency) you can do some fun bass sounds.
A nice thing to do with this is when you draw your line is to twist the move knob as well. That way you get a irregular dotty line. Then you can build that up.

Need a longer note? Turn the BPM waaaaaaay down.
Nice tip though, never thought of that.

Thanks so much for sharing that. I’ve been playing around with the resulting patch per your steps and I’m loving this supersaw-like sound, and pairing it with Nitro and Element LFO really does create some fun, special timbres.
Just a quick reminder for everyone who joined this lovely community recently: There’s an old blog out there which pretty much explains all synth engines very detailed. He must have spent a fair amount of time taking notes while tweaking:
I hooked my new op-1 with my iPad. Mainly just to map out possibilities like sequencing (auxy syncs perfectly!), but also for the animoog! I struggled a bit. First off: USB to cck iPad, and jack out from ipad to line in OP-1. Using the op-1 as midi controller.
But, whenever i played the moog the op-1 would also play whatever preset was loaded. (Using the op-1 as CTRL in COM, disables TAPE.)
My solution: I chose the sample synth engine, and a random preset. Then i turned gain(?) all the way down. (Shift+orange) in the synth-screen, NOT tape, obviously… Saved it to a quick slot, and then i can record the moog, thor, korg module etc. to tape! This was a bit roughly explained. English is not my first language, and I have just started using the OP-1!
Anyone have any other solutions?
I posted this over in the videos thread but I think it should go here as well. I put together a tutorial on how to do ambient/drone tracks
