Hi all!
Finally finished this one i started on Aug 18…hard won (again)!
Contains modified versions of samples from AOENER OP-1 Field sound pack (author: richard garrell) from Teenage Engineering (even though i only have an “OG” OP-1…obviously some of the programs (“MOTHER” reverb, DIMENSION synth engine patches, stereo samples, etc.) https://teenage.engineering/_img/63a17de8cd97601b2985f2b1_original.zip Retrieved on Aug 20, 2023
It’s been a while since I used my OG OP-1 and shared something on here, but just finished this track on it. I initially started this on a Nunomo Qun, then tried again on the OP-Z, that melted my brain trying to get the bassline sequenced with step components so decided the best place to make what I wanted was on the four track tape of the OP-1 with lots of overdubs and edits. I had totally forgotten how much fun it is to make stuff on the tape and had a blast. There are bits of the Qun and OPZ versions layered in here, plus the internal OP1 synth voices as well as lots of sample instruments (used mostly as melodic drum patches to allow for sort of multi sampled instruments) plus some bits from Ableton (mostly additional voice layers on top of my voice). Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
Took a sample of the clock pulse (which is basically octave jumping square waves) of a TR707 while changing the tempo. Long release on the ADSR, through the Phone FX….thanks for listening and noticing!
Op1F vs of Op1 live, all op1 synthesis no samples except a really mangled grab of Ozzy Osborne “Crazy Train” from the radio. It’s just muting / unmuting stuff, some attempts to live beatmatch
