Op-1f bug after update

I’m having a weird issue where when I lift a track and paste it (from track 1 to track 3) it isn’t copying what I lifted. I have no idea what is going on. How do I troubleshoot or put in some sort of bug to TE? I am trying to use the USB audio and I’m listening through headphones on the TX-6 and it will start to play audio out of the speaker on the OP-1 as well. Haaalp!

I should mention that it is copying SOMETHING but I don’t know where it is getting the audio from.

Honestly I have no idea what is going on. Whenever I lift and drop a track, it is playing something completely different and I have no idea where it is getting the audio from. It just deleted the audio I had on another track and replaced it with some drum pattern I didn’t have on this tape.

is that a shift lift or just single tracks at a time? I have not had any problem with any lift or drop yet since the update. sounds like a bug tho.

Me too.. I almost wonder if it’s a derived effect related to the alien Easter egg; because it does sound pretty musical and pleasant, just not what I played…

I suggest you shoot an email to support. You have to open a ticket directly on the website. I’ve done that for another bug that I found when recording via USB-C. Hopefully they will push a version with fixes related to the update, for now Ive downgraded.

I’m going to test this out this evening.
I have had two instances where lifting a piece of audio from a track and pasting it to another area of the same track erased everything in between. Luckily I was just testing the crossfades so nothing important got lost.
I’ve done a bit of copy/pasting since that, though, and it hasn’t happened again.

there is a new FW update 1.6.2 that just dropped that supposedly fixed this!

They fixed Audio USB Crakle Nice !!
But can you confirm you can crash the system by going on the Shift + tape screen go on “track” (cassette studio or mini disk) where there is no project then hit Shift + Clone when you have no project in the selected track to crash ?

Yeah, this crashes on 1.6.2

Thx for testing I have already send it to teenage but I wanna know if this was my op1 or the firmware !

Hey guys, if I arm recording with Shift + Record , is it supposed to let you hit any key to actually start recording? I can’t tell if I’m misremembering, but right now the only thing that actually kicks off recording for me is pressing Play . I’m on 1.6.2, would prefer not having to downgrade to check.

It always was play to start if you want to trigger to start you need to maintain record then hit a key.
Hope it help

Thank you!

I did find another minor thing. The FieldKit app on Mac doesn’t start the connection to the OP1-field on 1.6.2. Maybe it needs an update. The connection needs to be started directly from device (selecting MTP in the SHIFT + COM menu)

Hi OPs!

Shift + Lift all four tracks and then Drop still doesn’t work, as pasted track become a duplicate of track 1. Confirmed by others too.

Shift + Drop works as it should

oh wow this is a big one. Just tested and can confirm. This can actually lead to lost work. Downgrading for now.

Also experiencing a lift/drop bug: shift+lift 4 tracks > shift+drop to a single track works, but dropping to multiple tracks simply pastes track 1 across all 4 tracks.

So I don’t know if it’s the update or my OPnis faulty or it’s an OP-1 Field bug:

I documented my issue here:

Seems like my storage is full even though it’s not.
I get a FULL! Error when saving a preset

And I was having issues uploading new assets on 1.6.2 which when I reverted we’re able to be uploaded on 1.5.7

Q: What I wanted to know from folk that didn’t yet upgrade and are still on 1.5.7 when you mount the disk NOT using MTP - I thought you only get the 1-8 snapshots —> what do you see under drum and synth?

I seem to see some of my sound packs as well and I wanted to know what the filesystem listing looked like on other OP-1 Field when using disk mode.

MTP feels slower and I’m getting some odd MTP behaviour; dirs I create in the OP don’t show up in MTP and when I clean up files they still seem to be present on the filesystem.

I reverted by to 1.5.7 by taking a backup and doing a factory reset but I still get some of my sound packs showing up in disk mode

I’m getting the tape lift bug too. Lifted 4 tracks with shift lift. When I paste down I get 4 copies of track 1 pasted onto track 1 2 3 and 4. Shift drop works as it should. So my original work that I lifted is now gone forever except in shift drop form.

Really bad, I’m going to downgrade to 1.5.7 as this is just going to destroy things. Bummer! Hope they’ve not gone home for Xmas as this feels like a pretty small thing went wrong. Risky to release like this just before a long holiday… Oh well!

I’m getting an issue too where when I use the loop to designate a range for the tracks to Shift + lift and move, even when I attempt to drop it as the same split of tracks, each track appears to just be track 1?

this is a pretty disastrous bug if i’m honest
