Op-xy wishlist

16 hours after I posted saying I’d like more than 32 scenes in a song and we’ve got it - 96 scenes now possible with latest 1.0.29 update.

I’m going to update tonight when I get home.

Scene clone when moving to an empty scene is now also possible.

I seems like someone at TE does read these posts (but I also guess that the 96 scenes was already planned before my post 16 hours ago )

When you have bugs / ideas / etc always send them to TE directly via https://support.teenage.engineering/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000507239

They may read these forums but they definitely read those submissions, and I think a lot of the bug fixes and features have been stuff a lot of people have been submitting to them directly via that form.

Thanks for the link, I’ll do that. I did start sending bug reports to them on the advice of Tarekith, as well as here, but hadn’t done so for feature requests. I’ll definitely be sending them a few feature requests

Hell yeah, please do!!! Keep rocking your XY!

Will do. :+1:

Hoping to post my first finished OP-XY track soon.

IS the OLED just monochrome? Can it display colors or just shades?..

The reason is it would be very nice to have
visual reflection for scenes
like: intro, chorus, main groove, build up, break, drop etc. via different shades or some user definable visual indication.
For song structure overview and scene managing

Or just the option to name scenes and patterns and display the active scene/pattern name in all main pages (e.g. in header or footer) at least when the track button is pressed.

That’s a good addendum.

The benefit of being able to visually shade scene is that you can view the arrangement (for all its benefits) instead of just a bunch of billiard balls pinned on a wall via numbers…

Very handy for live sets aswell

I think I heard somewhere on one of the videos that it is colour but they chose the monochrome/ shades of grey to fit the style of the unit.

I just wish I knew what video I saw that in. I’d bet it’s the same display as the OP-1 Field as that would make sense from a component price point with manufacturing.

I’d also like to be able to choose different colours for different parts

It’s RBG, the step counter turns red when you’re recording for instance.

Haha yes, I hadn’t thought of that.

I have submitted a request to increase text size.

Is the screen actually any different than the op-1f?

No idea.

Me neither. My suspicion is that both products share a lot of the same components.

A drum engine like the D BOX that is in OP1

My three biggest wishes so far:

  • p-locking pan and fx sends for single drum sounds
  • slower lfo speeds when in sync mode … and by the way: more lfos per track
  • renaming of samples and presets directly on the device

Slower synced LFOs would be most welcome here too.

I‘d love if new songs have a random name instead of the current unnamed x.

Also I’d love if new songs have a random set of presets instead of always being the same 8.

Love those ideas!
