Finally got my first couple of hard crashes where the unit locked up. Pretty complex Wavetable patch with the arp also playing a complex pattern, then I tried modulating the WT position with the LFO,. adjusting the LFO depth locks everything up. Happily everything comes back perfectly (so far) after a power cycle.
Anyone also seeing the “init file system” message every time they boot the XY? Sometimes it just flashes, and sometimes it sticks around for a few seconds. Weird as I didn’t record any new samples or any load new ones onto the XY.
New trick found…keep press a track and without release select another track … now the second track play the same notes of the first and on the second track if you press + or - can change the octave on the second track and is also possible to set dedicated punch fx to that track … awesome
I’ve decided to put my XY back in the box for awhile and wait for a couple more updates to fix some of the crashes. I thought I was lucky at first as I didn’t really have any issues at all in the first couple weeks of use. But this past week it’s locked up completely on me daily many times, usually right when I get a really sweet patch happening. I have a feeling it’s related to using Scramble, as I haven’t had any issues until I started focusing on that more.
Luckily I haven’t lost any data, everything is right where I left it when I power cycle (yay autosave?).
Really sweet device and I love the workflow and what I’m able to create with it. But for now I’d rather not get frustrated with the OS and am happy to wait for TE to sort things out fully on that front. Hopefully won’t be too long of wait.
It is better to wait indeed. Usually I am not very patient but I already had the early adopter issues on OP-1 field and more recently DT II so for now I will wait
I had been noticing it a few times when loading up some new presets and samples. I tried copying a pretty big preset over today (1GB) and it crashed in the process, then when i loaded it up it had the “init file system” message and once it loaded allllllll the projects, presets, samples were 100% gone. Im currently in the process of copying things back over slowly one at a time but it seems like it crashes a lot when copying things from macOS.
Im going to start keeping an ‘offline’ copy of my samples & projects folder just in case… Just backing up the projects folder isnt enough since it references the samples and presets folder for the audio, so make sure when backing up that stuff, the filenames match what they were the time you loaded the sounds into a project to work with them, or the project wont load.
@nateschmold Is that a multisample preset at 1GB?
I read here somewhere, and I can’t seem to find the post, that there is a limit to the size of a multisampled instrument, and it is small. I could be completely wrong, maybe I dreamed it. But I think it was about 40 seconds for the whole instrument and 6-7MBs. I’m likely (I hope) wrong about that.

I’ll check out the USB audio tomorrow and post back.

Edit- So yeah I was able to connect the OP-XY via USB to my iPad and record USB audio. Also, I could connect to the Roland S-1 and hear the audio coming from the OP-XY over USB. I didn’t set anything up, it just worked. I was going straight in with the included TE USB C cable, no hub or anything.
