Fantastic work. You really seem to click with the Field.
Given your context as a professional producer, being surrounded by lots of high end gear and options, what do you think your long-term relationship with the Field will be? Is it good enough to survive your more pro contexts, or will it remain a notebook for inspiration only?
This EP to me sounds finished, ready and complete, but my ears aren’t trained to pick up differences between a good mix and a pro mix.
I think it will definitely be something I continue to use for my music making. It’s nice to have for those times I don’t want something super rigidly locked to a clock. And I just love making music with portable devices, which OP-1F excels at.
I’d love to come up with a short live set using just the OP-1 as well, but I’ll wait til I get a bit better at it before tackling that.
This sounds great! I really like the track in any case: I am getting strong Eno ‘Music for Films’ vibes, which weirdly I listened to yesterday. It’s kind of funny how much more ‘ambient’ music sounds when it has imperfections in it. Terminal delivers!
for any guitarists out there. i recorded this one all on the op1 on the porta 4-track tape with just my tele line in and the CWO effect enabled. created these really cool bell-like sounds:
loving my first “jamuary” so far. lots of amazing posts out there. here’s another one from me. trying new things with vocal sampling etc, def new territory for me haha -
