OP1 Field tracks

final day of jamuary. i ended up playing guitar over the whole track after i recorded the full initial take. i hope the guitar doesnt get in the way too much. kinda a slow hypnotic groove. sampled some bottles.

[First attempt really with the OP1 field , four tracks recorded , live seq over the top and live ‘Field recording’ of a Bali Seashore played back via a zoom F3 , all played live in a coffee shop in Bali , recorded direct to Phone - I should get one of this TX6 things really ]

A new improvisation from Pai, Thailand 🪼

i was able to get some extra warmth/richness/texture by piping the op1 into my vintage stereo amp. def happy with how it came out but if anyone has any feedback on the final mix/master im all ears - hard for me to judge now that ive listened back to it dozens of times haha

very cool vibe. how did you use the tp7 for this, was it just simply playing back at a slower speed and recorded right into the op1f?

Thanks! :). Yes, a reversed and slow-down track from the TP-7 connected to the input of the OP-1 and playing an instrument on the OP-1 with some spring delay.

Everything that attracts us,
is between the outstretched hand and the fruit.
And if we already have that fruit,
either it turns out to be rotten,
or overripe,
or we no longer like it,
or we want something else.

OP-1 Field Tests EP

Please enjoy what I was able to create my first week with my favorite DAW+hardware I have ever owned

I like the mini disk and the studio reel
The ports is like lo fi and the vintage is for well vintage sounds but they are all awesome

I sampled Japanese TV commercials from 1961 with the OP-1F, made beats with the PO-32, and recorded them while applying effects with the TX-6.
Because I am a young Japanese man living in the modern age.

THE STORY OF APRIL FOOLS
made with the op1F as an EXPERIMENTAL track, using samples, and radio. Things I’ve never done before but I just did it for funny fun
