Nice one @mixrasta! I loved the outro – the sax-like synth was so nostalgic! =)

Thanks @vehka! Btw I made a new mix to it and uploaded the new version under the same name!

Digitrack #1

100% Digitakt.
3am, alone in the dark.
Bourgogne, France, live take in the park.

Uncut / unmastered, factory samples only

Really enjoyed listening to this today on my morning commute. The second half, from about 4 minutes on gripped me. The drums sounded snappy and punchy. The synth line worked well and the bass was good. Overall, it is a good advert for digitakt!

@mixrasta I like this too. If it’s ok to say I think the bass and kick drum masked each other so some heavier sidechain would clean up the low end. The synth line was really nice but I wanted it to pop out more. Maybe a simple thing like bringing its level up in the mix would’ve made it stand out more. What did you use for the synth? It sounded like a heavily processed sample. I loved it.

The MX-1 has proved to be a great mixer so far. Simple side-chaining is a couple of button presses away. Having these type of features so easily accessible really get my creative juices flowing. Maybe it would benefit your production too? Anyway, good work! Thumbs up!

Here’s a not very elaborated cover of tuxedomoon’s “in a manner of speaking”. I was playing with a new Organelle patch the other day and accidentially arrived at this. Also starring were the OP-1 (“grit” sequence), the Sub37 (bass) and the mopho x4 (solo). And some fx processors (Big Sky, OTO BAM, Empress Reverb, CT5).

Thanks @HisMostDarxxxellent! If you mean the jumping bouncing ball synthline, it’s the Uni-Tri wave from the electribe with very short decay played on the kaosspad with gate arp. The middle part’s bass arpeggio is the Dominion. And the sax sound is also Korg, which I had to tweak and modulate a lot to make it at least sound a little bit realistic. I’ve never used side chaining in my life  but I already panned the bass a bit to the left and the bass drum to the right and reduced bass. Yes it’s kind of eating freqs but I’m fine with that cause I don’t want it to be too fat.

Cool! @mixrasta! Thanks for breaking it down for me! I loved reading where the sound has actually come from after flooding my head with guesstimates! I was worried that my words came off coarse or abrasive. I’m sorry if they did. Any and all response to music and they way individuals perceive it varies on a case to case basis. I think that is another reason why I love music so much. It’s all subjective to the listeners preferences  thanks for being so cool and understanding

Yes, it just was just your constructive criticism

Glad you did, friend. I love this instrument a lot, despite its current instability. It's getting better with every new OS. The sound is incredible, sample playing quality and filter alone are awesome !

This track has some problems, but monitoring conditions were far from ideal, being playing outside in the dark ^^
But it was awesome to play with stars above, in a place that had most likely never known electronic music before

Kicks & clicks: OP-1
Glitches galore: Organelle (patch: 'autechre')
bass synth: Sub37

Dammit, that’s not helping to quell my Organelle GAS.

Lead synth - OB6
Background synths - System 1 and 1m combo and Sub 37
Bass - SE-1
Kicks and snares, hats and claps - TR8
More drum hits - Machinedrum
Additional percussion n FX - Analog 4
Lots of rack/pedals etc used

Stereo out recorded to cassette. Flipped back in into Logic for digital copy.

Glad you like it. I’m overwhelmed by the 0-Coast. It lives up to the promises / reviews / demos I’d read/seen before I hit the buy it now last week; you can get sounds out of it that are not quite possible to get with more traditional subtractive synths. All in all, a very inspiring instrument.

Cassette Jamz part deux!

Drums - Machinedrum
Synths - OB6 (main) System 1 and 1m (backing) A4 (other)
Effects/1 hits - Sub 37 and A4

Recorded the stereo out file to cassette and flipped it into my DAW for mastering.

makenoise 0-coast thru the Organelle (Granular Freezer LL patch), the whole lot into the Empress Reverb. Sequencing by the Korg SQ-1.

I just released a new EP of minimalist footwork/autonomic dnb/idm/whatever made entirely with one copy of nanoloop 2.8.2 on a DS lite, recorded in one take

https://0f-digital.bandcamp.com/album/wrkr

Got a track on the latest llllllll.co release. We share a pool of samples and concoct the track out of those.

https://lcrp.bandcamp.com/album/synaesthesia

Mines is track 2. Heavy use of paulstretch then some generative dnb style percussion, topped of with some vocal samples.

CDs available as well as nameyourprice download. Also check out the previous releases of the idea interests you. And head over to llllllll.co to get involved.

Might be the first time an OB6 has ever been used for Grime music! All made out of the box and then I chucked some plugins on once I had the stereo file in the DAW https://soundcloud.com/pkrynx/darxxxeeker

Btw… A4/Machinedrum/TR8 on drums - Amazing combination!
