Patterning and OP-1

If anyone has any luck using the incredible new "Patterning " app to send MIDI notes to OP-1, please do tell!

I give up.

I’m currently at work losing my mind because I can’t play with it yet, but I intend to give it a go later. I’ll report back.

Got it.

Reply if you run into any headaches. The note settings are (1) octave up from the OP-1, FYI.

So, set the note in Patterning @ F4 to trigger F3 on OP-1, for example.

Really great app, we wrote about it here http://audionewsroom.net/2015/08/patterning-for-ipad-review-circular-inspiration.html

Lots of quality kits too, so I’m not sure… do you think it’s worth the hassle in this case to use the app just as a controller for the OP-1 sounds? I assume you wanna do this to further tweak things on the OP-1 as you go, right?

That’s been my experience so far… I had a lot of fun with this app over the weekend, but the kits are SO great and it’s so easy to import your own samples, that I never really felt the need to have it controlling something else. I just wanted to jam along with it.

+1 Wingo!
On a whim I picked up this app in hopes of sending midi to the op-1 or my Nord Drum 2 but didn’t get that far because the Patterning sampling/delay/eq/efx section was too much fun! Also picked up Chordian for

$1.99 :o)

Patterning auto-record was pretty fun too! Also like how you can change sequence direction/variations in different tracks and can change the length of each track’s sequence. Reminded me of Propellerhead Figure.

Blasphemy.

Dude right now I am jamming with Patterning synced to Zynthesizer controlling Animoog and it rules. I’m fucking Autechre over here with all this probability and randomization (pardon my French). Next move is to send this midi clock to external hardware i.e. the OP-1. Now I’m feeling the workflow.

Now, get Sector involved, and you’re bound to transcend some trans-dimensional thing or other.

Yes! The great mystical land of multiple spinning beat vortexes.

Awesome beat-making app, now the only sample/pattern-based drum machine on my iPad, deleted all the others as Patterning can do everything I need. This app, SeekBeats and Impaktor fully cover my beat-sculpting grounds in iOS.

What the hell is Zynthesizer? :)

@Unflattered - Does it only send notes, or does it send velocity and other parameters to the OP1 as well?

xynthesizr maybe?

Guess so

I’ll get back to you on that.

Yeah, Xynthesizer. Sorry. It’s good for controlled random sequences.

Man I just hooked up Patterning to my Moog and it totally rules. Just USB with a lightning adaptor straight connection. No Midibridge or anything, and it just works. This is so rad. https://instagram.com/p/6--Of6Sjh3/
