mine is the same. 1200ma when charing and 10ma when disabled. this is prob normal then. there is maybe a trickle of power always being drawn? i can’t imaging 10ma would do anything to the host battery though. so you are saying your iPad gets drained from 10ma? couldnt be. maybe it says 10ma but its really not? ill have to test this more myself. i never plug it into my computer unless to mtp.
i wonder what i could do to test this elsewhere to see if mine really is drawing more power than 10ma
I guess if I use it with the iPad for a few hours it’s not a big deal then. 10ma shouldn’t be causing damage to the battery unit of the field. But it is a very drawn out, slow drain
(It takes about two hours or so of continuous use and the iPad is totally sapped where as my iPad battery will last about 1-2 days without losing much charge at all without use )
im pretty sure i saw somewhere
that TE themselves have said that it doesn’t stop charging and isn’t supposed to
its more there to help with ground loop noise
which in my experience it doesn’t do a great job of either
either way the name is misleading
The response from TE support was:
“there is currently no way to control the charging, which is handled automatically.”
