The gearlust thread part deux: post your GAS

^ The MicroKontrol is pretty small as it is. A mate has one, its a great looking controller - looks like a little analogue synth rather than just a mid controller.

When it comes to the perfect controller, have you got an iPad? You could use apps like Lemur and the many other midi designer controller apps out there to create your own perfect controller on a song by song basis - i.e just have the controls you need per song onscreen at a time. Couple this with a hands-on controller with knobs or sliders for quicker more tactile control then you’re laughing

My friend also has the MicroKontrol and it’s a real gem, too bad korg stopped updating the drivers. It can work with live 9 if you manually map everything.

Bass Bot TT-303 added to the Gas list.

Also to compliment my Critter And Guitari Video Scope, I want the Rhythm Scope and the Black and White Video Scope.

videoscope’s dope.

I dunno @Kites, just noticed it on the iConnectMIDI site.

Oh word @krism,I think that’s been on there since January. From the looks of it, we won’t see it till next year…

oh. Shows how much I pay attention lol…

in other news, zZounds is carrying Pittsburgh Modular stuff for preorder atm. Interest-free payment plans on a eurorack is dangerous o.O

For whatever reason…
The Volca Keys and Microbrute are creeping.

Thor for iPad is $5 until the 31st

I have the opportunity to snag the new Minibrute SE for $398 new, should I?

One of my concerns of the Brutes is being able to tame their harshness, but upon watching several videos of users making really soft, and lush sounds- I think I’ll manage,

not bad except price… SBX-1: $499 street…

Multi-format sync for computers and electronic instruments

The SBX-1 lets computers and electronic instruments communicate and synchronize with each other. It supports a vast array of both analog and digital devices through DIN SYNC, MIDI and USB, and any of these can be the master clock source. You can use the SBX-1 itself as the master sync and control your external devices with its rock-steady internal clock. With hands-on control over timing and groove, and support for CV/GATE, the SBX-1 is far from just an ordinary sync box.

  • - Simultaneous conversion between MIDI, DIN SYNC, and USB/MIDI
  • - Control external devices with SBX-1 as the master sync source
  • - Shuffle adds swing to patterns generated on devices without swing like TR-808 and TB-303
  • - CV/GATE jacks introduce enormous creative possibilities
  • - SYNC button corrects timing errors with a single press
  • - Output up to three channels of triggers or LFOs with different characteristics
  • - DIN SYNC supports both Sync24 and Sync48 compatible with a variety of rhythm machines
  • - Works great with the TR-8 through optimized AUX jack
  • - Runs on USB bus power or with AC adapter

you can absolutely tame the 'Brutes @Kites

feeling pretty meh on Roland’s attempts lately, and the sbx-1 isn’t much better. the LFOs are CV only it seems; I’d rather buy a MIDI Pal and/or Future Retro Swynx to go with my Oplab (while whipping Tobias to fix the MIDI Out bug already lol…)

Speaking of Roland, I ran into this box at Sam Ash - http://www.amazon.com/Roland-VS-100-Audio-Interface/dp/B002BHRDZK/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1409644072&sr=8-7&keywords=Roland+v+studio

What do you guys think? It’s got practically everything in a compact box, I only wish I saw this guy sooner. It’s even got a motorized fader ha

Oplab in Gay.

Oplab is best!

Question. Does anyone have experience with Roland V-Synth and JP series? I own a JP-8080. It’s an excellent machine with great sound, lots of capabilities and extremely user-friendly interface. However, I am intrigues by V-Synth’s sample mangling capabilities and considering swapping JP-8080 for it. I’ve heard that its subtractive synthesis engine is very similar to JP-8080. How similar? Does it have similar problems (aliasing and envelope clicks)? How easy it it to use?
