The gearlust thread part deux: post your GAS

I just gave in and got MPC Pro and BeatMaker 2. Just wish there were an easy way to sequence the op1 by connecting everything to a Mac.

Edmund

Not a huge GAS (but that’s perhaps the more dangerous ones…), but the Drive Minifooger looks sweet.

Also, @eronald, you know that the OP-1 can be MIDI sequenced, notes at least?

what @beefinator said, @eronald, just plug in the OP-1 and then select it with your MIDI track.

I’ve been eyeing an A4 again myself, paired with my Timeline and the OP-1, plus maybe some acoustic guitar wired in, could be fun  We’ll see though, not sure I’m ready to go back to Elektron just just yet.

The new TR-8 looks pretty interesting as well.

OP-1 yes

Nord A1 yes
DSI PRO2 maybe
Roland TR8 and TB3 maybe
Roland System 1 losing interest…
then I can finally stop!

Said no one ever

  • shruthi XT or other cool desktop synth good for live performance (with functions easily accessible by knobs), specially for bass. also thinking about the minitaur. I would sequence and sample them live using the OT. today I’m using a Korg R3 for that, but it’s so big and I almost never use the keys live, so…

    - analog RYTM, that would be perfect (+ OT + OP-1 + one of the above…)

    - an iConnectMidi4+ to sync my OT to the OP-1, and also to use the queneo to control some functions on the OT… but that’s not REALLY necessary…

    any thoughts on the minitaur?

It’s a new day. I can feel it. I’ve almost completely stopped thinking about the Pulse 2 I haven’t bought, yet.
Wait…

Can you fight crime with the Korg mini kaossilator and kaos pad 2?

Apparently so…

P.s. The girl is a doll.

I have to play mine soon again!

A PO-12.

Someone had to say it.

And Livid Instruments cannot release the DS1 fast enough (slated for late September).

Sign me up for a PO-12 too!

I’m not even a drum machine type of person, but that one looks like a winner

A po-12.

Also, I have an iconnectmidi4+ on the way, can’t wait to actually have the iPad, op1 and OT talk to each other. I actually think I managed to GAS sensibly this time.

maybe someone can review that and the audio version

My GAS has been stacking up like crazy for a while now - I’ve been very restrained though. Here’s my updated list (a problem shared is a problem halved):

  • fix the dodgy connections on my SL1210's
  • some kind of mixer (mackie?) to plug my toys into
  • some genelec m030 monitors
  • Strymon El Capistan
  • Strymon Big Sky
  • Elektron Rytm
  • a cello (still haven't started)
  • Oto Machines Boum (ridiculous I know, not even here yet)

However… the cars on the blink, there’s a leak coming down from the bathroom, bills to pay, sigh. Thank goodness for the Op-1!

Does anyone have experience with:
Yamaha An200
http://www.vintagesynth.com/yamaha/an200.php

I don’t, but I reckon they look pretty mad. I was really close to picking up a dx200 for $300 a few weeks ago, but the dude was kinda flakey and I ended up just letting it go. Pretty stupid in hindsight I suppose.

Anyway, back to the point. Both the an200 and dx200 are on my radar. I’d be keen to hear what peeps have to say about them too.

I started all this madness with a used DX200. Very capable little FM groovebox as I recall, I imagine its VA sibling would be quite nice, too.

Anyone who needs monitors or wants to upgrade from Rokits or Behringer, you can get JBL305/308 for 50% off the second, good thru the 31st. I’ve seen the deal at zZounds and Sweetwater, so I imagine it’s not just one site having a sale.

I like some of the sounds here http://youtu.be/3yc46MidGyA
