TX-6 mixer

First production run of TX-6 is sold out. Of course we have no idea how many were made initially.

Nice! I saved myself $1200

I’m sure there will be more stock to tempt us soon

P.S. I think I am spending too much time on this forum :joy:

thanks for the unboxing ! looks awesome ! packaging is very simple, but inside has some artistic touches to it. reminds me of beatles white album.

Isn’t that the way with art, when it’s good? First there’s the outrage, then comes the pedestal. Same with the OP-1

@instantjuggler very annoying about the bag. No way in hell I would be tossing that in my backpack without at least something to protect it.

thanks ! great review! maybe that bag would fit a pocket operator ?

maybe the bag is a manufacturing issue

who is in charge of QC??

@oxxi TE able to design a pocket sized mixer with surgical precision, but just can’t get the damn velcro to close

So who has received their unit yet, or at least received tracking info? Nothing on my end yet, ordered on April 22nd.

Guy in my team at work ordered one on the 21st, pretty much as soon as he received the announcement email apparently, but has not heard anything back yet. He emailed support and (in classic TE style) has not heard anything.

Unfortunately he lives too far away from me unfortunately so I won’t be able to see it for real when it arrives but he’s promised to let me know his thoughts and give me a demo over a video call.

Fab video! Seeing your fingernails brush almost brush against those metal pots put me right off! I hate that sensation, which is also common on some guitar pedals I use.
Very curious about the volume output of the mixer sounding so low with the OB-4 cranked up 50%.

i think the pocket operators were as loud as i would expect them to be with the OB cranked up to 50%. but the op-z’s were more quiet than i thought they should be… my only quick thought is that somehow i have all my op-z master volumes lower than 100%. but i don’t know why i would have done that and i can’t remember having done that!

Great videos, really interesting to see it in action. And yeah, how odd with the bag thing - it’s like they challenged themselves to go as small as physically possible no matter the user experience. Their comment under the video suggests they know it is possible to fit but… how??

I guess the discussion on this is the same as any TE product - they’re always compared to other gear that does similar things. But I don’t think that’s TEs aim. They’re not trying to just make a TE branded synth, or a TE mixer or sequencer. It’s true there are devices that, on paper, do more than theirs do, but each of their devices offer a pretty unique experience that can’t really be found anywhere else.

For me, other gear is… gear. It serves a purpose in the process of making music. The TE stuff I own (OP1 OPZ) I enjoy using purely for the joy of playing. Like a piano or a guitar. I feel that is what TE are going for - something almost undefinable that is very personal.

It definitely won’t be for everyone but is something that can only be valued on an individual basis - the price for that experience and enjoyment will be fine for some, not worth it for others. But comparing it to ā€˜similar’ gear misses TEs purpose I think.

Still needs a bag that fits though
