I get some pops and cracks in my recording when using a usb cable and recording directly to my phone. I have tried different cables and even different phones but still the same. You can hear it in the video about 6 seconds in the first click comes.
I started having issues after installing the last FW or at least I think so. Anyone else having this issue?
I reached out to TE and they told me it might be FW related and no news about an update so just wanted to check if I’m alone?
You’re not alone - I’m having a similar issue, I think.
It happened when I was recording to a USB memory plugged into the TX-6. I thought I was clipping, but then I also thought it was weird because the meter wasn’t saying I was that hot. It did get worse as the track built up, but I haven’t actually put the track into a computer to see what’s going on. I shall have to do that!

Thank you that would be great. Also please report to TE so they know more people are having issues so they hurry with new FW
Yeah, so here’s one spot where it was clicking. First in the lower waveform and then in the upper waveform. So yes, it was clipping – except instead of simply clipping, the waveform shoots off in the other direction, which seems weird. Happens in both the positive and negative directions. I ran izotope de-click on my project to take away the clicks (it seems to have picked up all of them) and that solution sounded fine (for this project), in case that’s any help.
When I was recording this, I didn’t really feel like the metering was showing true levels. They seemed low, enough that I shouldn’t have been clipping. But I’m not 100% sure that my gain staging was impeccable. It was a new piece of gear I was running into the mixer. That said, if my sound was clear before I raised the gain in the TX-6, then it shouldn’t have been that kind of problem.

Thank you for the great analysis and also for the tip. Usually I just record a short jam and post it online because I don’t want to do the hassle of post so right now the TX-6 is not really usable for me.
Did you also report this to TE?
Haven’t sent it to TE yet, but I shall.
EDIT: Now I’ve reported it.

i get this with my op1f, when recording via audio over usbc. same exact clicks as you had on your original video post @Boboulus .
i tested many different pieces of gear and diff wires etc, and was able to confirm the following, which i will be sending to TE support later today:
- tx6 --usb–> op1f: clicks
- opz --usb–> op1f: clicks
- og1 --usb–> op1f: clicks
- op1f --usb → og1: no clicks
- tp7 --usb–> op1f: no clicks
- cm15 --usb–> op1f: no clicks

Thank you for some extensive testing and to bad it’s not only the TX-6 but maybe it’s good for a faster fix.
TE responded back to me today after I asked more about the issue that they think it’s the communication between the iPhone 14/16 (I tested both) and TX-6 but seems to be more likely within the TX-6 and some code newly implemented by TE in their usb.

Got a response from TE saying they were aware of the problem, also no prognosis for the timing of a fix. Didn’t expect answers, I suppose, but then it’s at least another entry in their support logbook.
They also responded when I mentioned your issue with phone recording, saying that was a separate issue.

Thank you for reporting back. Hopefully they will fix it soon but my guess is that all hands are on deck working on op-xy bugs right now so no hopes in a near future fix.
