Tonight my gf brought me to the opera to watch "Nutcracker" ballet. First time ever I see such thing.
It was absolutely magnificent ! I've been really impressed !
It’s wonderful you mention that, as it’s December, I like Tchaikovsky and yet I’ve never heard The Nutcracker in its entirety. Now I’m gonna correct that soon.
I’m checking this for the nth time. It’s so good. Straight after that I went to his live Boiler Room set in Moscow. I love the intro tune! Especially after watching this (http://youtu.be/D17awHFwM1Q) documentary entowhich he unfolds details about the struggles and going with the flow… I think he has now found his niche… Here it is! http://youtu.be/ZfD7ya31hEc
Chester Watson’s Tin Wooki was my favorite album this year (but it was made in 2014).
Now I’ve been listening so many obscure artists of the YouTube/Soundcloud/Bandcamp that any international production / Pitchfork suggestion sounds kind of weird in my ear ^^
Weird like… too produced maybe. Or not experimental enough…
Oh, and I spent a lot of time digging in the past (AFX + first warp records, early minimal / dub techno…)
My culture in electronic music is still to be done, but it’s getting better ^^
Tame Impala - Currents (can't get that one out of my head at the moment!)
Kamasi Washington - The Epic
Grimes - Art Angels
Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
All great! I’m telling you man, that Tame Impala album seriously burrows right into your brain like crazy.
I would add these:
Dan Deacon - Gliss Riffer Oneohtirx Point Never - Garden of Delete Disasterpeace - It Follows OST Julia Holter - Have you in my Wilderness (so lovely!)
Thanks for those extra recommendations @wingo. I was in Rough Trade today and now I’m kicking myself for not picking up the Julia Holter. Nevermind, next time!
Magical - I couldn’t agree more! I’ve listened to this piece countless times throughout the entirety of this year. I feel blessed for finding it and even happier that I could share it
Listening to “Dumb Flesh” by Blanck Mass a lot recently. A fantastic album. This track especially reminds me of a darker, more nihilistic version of Depeche Mode…
