This is my kinda dirt.
Old crapped out corrugated iron, falling shack dandruff onto the pigsty floor. It would be fine, but these goddamn moths keep flying into the kerosene.
Such a sweet piano sound. How did you get that? Is it EP?
New to this forum - so nice to hear so many cool tracks from the community! I have been doing weekly live performances with the OP-Z for a little while, here’s one of the latest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqHZYIayl0M&list=PL9IlJusK8N1dOSudzs9l2GUtX06R3QF0y&index=6
My fifth track on the OP-Z. Wanted to make something darker and more percussive. Not sure I’ve nailed the percussive aspect yet. I feel like I need more tracks, but I guess I could just construct my own kits. I did have some fun with the tape track to add an extra layer. All drums and synths from the OP-Z.
Can you guess the film the samples are from?
Just released an OP-Z/OP-1/Modular performance video.
In this performance, the OP-Z is controlling and sequencing everything, and about 90% of what you hear is the OP-Z itself. I have the OP-1 doubling the chord track on the OP-Z so that the pads come across a little thicker. I have the Endorphin.es Blck_Noir doubling most of the drums on the OP-Z. Lastly I have Mutable Instrument’s Plaits being sequenced by the OP-Z “CV” or “Module” track to layer an additional melody part on the main section. This is all being mixed down live in my Eurorack Case and recorded into Ableton for some extra compression and limiting.
I also had a ton of fun exploring a video pack by Ivar Beer. This was my first time actually “sequencing” a video pack to musically follow what was happening with the track. Very pleased with the results and will hopefully be implementing it in my live-sets.
This OP-Z jam helped me get through some music making anxiety that I’ve been feeling lately. Maybe it can help someone else out there too. All sounds are stock OP-Z engines and the parameters for each track are provided at the end of the video in case you would like to use any of the sounds.
Love that you also shared all the parameters - best part of the community
!
My ninth OP-Z jam and definitely my most fun experience so far. Threw together some patterns in a day and recorded a video on the first take trying to form it all into a full song in the style of house and techno.
That’s really good. How did you get that worn tape sound? The pitch kind of wavers a little on the synth. I haven’t figured out how to do this on the z yet. Nice.
This OP-Z Jam is a upbeat fun track with a nice arp running through out.
All sounds are stock OP-Z engines and as always the parameters for each track are provided at the end of the video in case you would like to use any of the sounds.
I started a new series where I sit down with my modular, patch from scratch, and jam out for a bit.
Okay, so while none of the actual sounds are from the OP-Z, everything is being sequenced (and even some of the modulation) by the OP-Z. Hope you all still find it interesting, as it does show how strong of a sequencer the OP-Z.
In this patch, plaits is the main oscillator, Blck_Noir is providing all the percussion, QPAS is the amazing stereo filter, Maths and Mimeophon are providing various modulation sources, the Mimeophon is the amazingly lush reverb, and like I said, the OP-Z is just as the sequencer and some modulations.
Just me sitting down with the op-z and playing some piano. I use a sample called felt piano on the chord track. You can find the sound on Op1fun if you like it.
This track was originally created in Ableton as the title track for my first album, but I recently decided to re-write the track within the OP-Z so that I could perform it live. I then use my modular rig and the OP-1 (sequenced by the OP-Z) for additional textures.
Most all of what you are hearing is just the OP-Z.
This OP-Z Jam features some up pitched echo and reverb on the tape track affecting the main lead. The tape track is really neat and can do some really wacky things ![]()
Sounds are stock OP-Z engines and as always the parameters for each track are provided at the end of the video in case you would like to use any of the sounds.
The Chord track of this jam features the felt piano sample found here:
Hope you all have a wonderful day!
This OP-Z Jam is a Dracula inspired Halloween track that is more on the darker/louder side than what I’m used to. It was a ton of fun to make!
Sounds are stock OP-Z engines and as always the parameters for each track are provided at the end of the video in case you would like to use any of the sounds. The Sample Track did feature myself saying “I vant to suck your blood…Mwa ha ha ha ha ha” sampled directly into the OP-Z using the on board microphone.
Happy Halloween!
Nice track! Love the effect your getting by tilting the z. Can you explain how you set that up?
