Your OP-Z Tracks

I made a little EP only using the Op-z and a kaosspad mini 2s. Every song is a oneshot live performance. This is the first time I released my music, please have mercy

Can someone please help me out? Just trying to put the You Tube screen in my post. Just a little test video I made. Wanted some people to see it.

Op-z on the porch. Made a quick recording with my op-z on the porch after a sunny day in the garden. Atmosphere and soft drums sequenced.

Near the end of last week I released part 1 of a short tutorial series talking about how I made a full album using the OP-Z.

In this video I go over some of my tips, tricks, and overall thought process behind arranging and mixing a track on the OP-Z.

Part 2 (were I talk about midi recording and layering) will be coming out later next week.

My new OP-Z track. Using the tape track as a performance tool, albeit sparingly.

Hey, just got an OP-Z and these are the first tracks in the first month only using the OP-Z, just trying things out and playing around:

I haven’t made music in a decade (always DAWless!), and sold all my old gear from back then (Akai MPC2000XL, Korg MS2000, Redsound Darkstar, some other gear, which I now regret selling). I am blown away by how quick the OP-Z is to create music—I’m used to loading multiple floppy discs just for a single song!

I’ve heard a lot of ambient/chilled music online which slightly put me off the OP-Z as I used to make stuff with more of a beat, but the portability sold me. I have to say I am now getting seduced by all that ambient stuff with insane pedals and old fourtracks! I’ve really enjoyed starting to learn more about music theory, chord progressions, and just having a lot of fun, so happy with the purchase.

I just upgraded the firmware for new synth engines and sampling capabilities, and bought a Korg NTS-1 to create different kind of sounds to sample and FX. Looking at other portable synths, but that is another conversation for another time—need to better understand the OP-Z before running off.

It seems like a good community on this forum, and I’m learning from it! Would love any feedback.

Re-created one of my older tracks (my first single, Lost Depth) on the OP-Z this past week!

This OP-Z Jam is a calm and ambient piece that I feel has a heavy daydreaming vibe to it. All sounds are stock OP-Z engines and as always the parameters for each track are provided at the end of the video in case you would like to use any of the sounds.

I wanted to make a mellow, cinematic piano-based track on the OP-Z. So I sampled a piano note one day and created what eventually became this track.

“Be still, and contemplate the aspects of life that have eternal meaning.” The track seeks to express the feelings of loneliness and uncertainty.
