just got mine last night — sounds great! looking forward to exploring it a bit more.
I am not able to test yet but will find out if it will sync with OP1 - to build one is easy, get a link cable, cut one end of and wire it to the jacks, there is no active circuitry inside the box, it is just a nice good quality ABS box with some decent jack sockets and a sticker
Nanoloop doesn’t sync as slave to the PO/volca 8th-note sync pulse scheme, despite being able to send it as master. However, the worst case scenario is that nanoloop will just play at half speed, so if you’re ok with it being slow then it should still be usable.
^ Damn, I’m rooting for you over here, hope it gets there soon man!
100% confirmed my mono cart was bunk. my biverted pro sound modded gb showed up yesterday and getting exact same glitch. n1 cart sounds mint coming out of it though. my replacement cart seems to be making its way here a good bit faster than the first one though. already in nyc. hopefully here next week.
yikes! Cool that oliver is sending you a replacement cart though. Do you have to send the broken one back?
here’s hoping mine isn’t broken, lol
he didn’t ask me to send it back, no. i wonder if he could tell from the vid that it was bricked? maybe a power surge or somethin’ when it was getting flashed… i dunno.

nice! just checked and mine is in atlanta. should be here tomorrow!!! i set up an all analog mini studio to record to tape with it. mono+minilogue+volca bass+volca keys
oh damn, recording mono to tape would be SWEET
Hurrah glad it arrived! My 2nd cart arrived, but bodged 2 screens so nothing to play on yet. I ordered some nice buttons and stuff to pimp the dmg’s I plan on syncing 3 up initially but maybe 4 eventually, mono, mono, one, lsdj.
I highly recommend doing the direct out mod especially for recording to tape.
yeah I might attempt the direct out mod this weekend. Where did you connect the ground? The same as prosound mod, or is there a better place?
either way, this thing is amazing. holy shit I didn’t think it would be capable of such deep bass. Think I might have to give it a try with a distortion pedal at some point!
edit again: if you have a gba, I highly recommend a nanoloop 2 cart. It’d play very nicely with mono! Certainly something I’m gonna try very soon.
what’s the best way to sync gba to dmg? i’ve got an sp and a micro and a ds lite
@pselodux you can solder to any of the ground points, I used one of the springy contacts (E3) as it had a nice big blob of solder to attach to.
@drybones you should be able to sync using those boxes you got from me, just get a gba cable for one and a dmg cable for the other. Then use regular 3.5mm TS jacks to connect.
You can also get a universal link cable which has both kinds of connector on each end.
oh right. duh (slaps forehead).i guess i had mainly thought about using those to sync up other none hardwares but there’s no reason they shouldn’t be able to sync w/each other
You should be able to split the sync using the mixer too, one thing I noticed about the nanoloop sync is that it seems to have a wider pulse width than volca/po etc so depending on what gear is being synced it might take a bit of experimentation to find the best way to get everything happily syncing. What I mean is deciding on master/slave and the order in which things are daisy chained.
So I did the direct out mod, it sure is clean! Here’s a super quick test…
oh man… spent about an hour after work with this thing. hope to get a quick demo up in the next couple of days.
Made this today :)
Sorry I lost track, is this for syncing with Pocket Operators?
Hey everybody, Anthony from Nonfinite Electronics. We currently have nanoloop mono for sale at http://nonelectronics.com/nanomono. We are a USA-based seller that ships worldwide, and have been working closely with Oliver Wittchow, the creator of nanoloop for many years. I even got to meet the guy in Berlin this Summer!
I have written an EP using mono, and four banks of each cart can optionally come loaded with this release, which totals about 20 minutes of audio depending on how you progress through it. Nanoloop is sort of an organic instrument, and live sets always come out a different for me each time I use it. So essentially this is an album on a fully functional music cartridge, free of charge.
Anyways, enough rambling. I love nanoloop. You should too! Go get yourself a cart!
