Did anyone see this coming???

For once they avoided all the pre-release hype and associated disappointment… Well done TE! The features of it… sounds like they’ve basically written down all our gripes and dreams on the forum over the years, and implemented them in the new version. Crazy. Sounds like a April Fool’s joke, it’s so good.

2k€ though. But looks awesome

guess the op-z could be next…

If the sound quality is sufficiently improved, it’ll be a no-brainer update for all OP-1 fans who can afford it.

Uhhh… Probably the end of updates to the ā€œoriginalā€ OP-1 firmware… So sad!

Anyone know what they mean by ā€˜New Hold Sequencer?’. I’m guessing you will be able to pick up V1 on ebay cheap now as people sell them off.

Unfortunately, OP-1 and Fileld firmwares are not compatible.

The original sounds more organic

Looked at the manual and still can’t work out what the hold sequencer does.

Stereo recording!!! :metal:
New FX ā€œMotherā€: a true decent reverb, at last!!
New sound engine ā€œDimensionā€
Different tape styles

Seems pretty hifi, judging by @MichaalHell’s lovely album:

There’s also some kind of headset mic input support, which means that it supplies plugin power for electret mics too I suppose?

One real pain as far as ā€œtransportabilityā€ is concerned is the "original OP-1 screen visibilty outsside… Will ā€œFieldā€ do better? I see its brightness is adjustable (would have loved this on original OP-1)… to what extend is it adjustable?
