New OP-1 Field 😮

USB audio was added to the OP-1 recently (and is on the OP1F also. That’s another option for clean audio out.

Some guy on reddit just found it on the TE website - anyone can confirm?

Extracted txt: OP–2 
louder, bigger and 100 times better.
introducing the all new OP–2 field. injected with more than a decade of
ideas, refinements and improvements. just to mention a few: stereo
throughout the whole signal chain, bluetooth midi, usb type-c, a new
37 ultra-slim keys with velocity sensitivity and polyphonic aftertouch,
a massive 48 hour battery life, multiple tapes and 8 tracks,
a new 16-step hardware sequencer and the ‘undo’ button, an all
glass, flush, high resolution display. we also meticulously reworked all
graphics, screen by screen. did we mention fm broadcasting?
well, that’s just some of the 100 new features:

I think this is somebodies wish list mixed with memes, undo button made me laugh a little

This would be awesome

Indeed

If TE announced this, 20 days after 1000’s of people dropped $2000 on the Field, there’d be mass returns of the field, and a LOT of anger. No way it’s real.

Idk, they could sell it for $5000, so that people who bought op1f would feel better about their purchase. I,d love to have a bigger op-1

Nahh i think it is fake. The UI in the screen is even te same (with 4 tracks). They keyboard is picked from internet. Not sure how it is called but it is a well known low profile midi keyboard. So fake imo!

It just doesn’t make sense from a marketing perspective. Think of how many might’ve bought such a thing, IF ONLY they hadn’t already dropped 2 large on the Field.

Yeah indeed! Thanks haha

Seq button is an error, as there already is one on the right. Knob with same color as well.

Seeing this mock-up, it makes me understand how much the small footprint is one of OP-1 major strengths.

Lights on 1-16 buttons are an interesting addition though.

Whomever drew that picture didn’t think about design all that much. Color-coding 4 knobs is a simple and very intuitive solution for creating association between on-screen info and hardware control. It doesn’t use symbols or positioning, which reduces cognitive load. However, you can’t do that with 8 knobs. First, because you will not get clear separation between all 8 colors, so some knobs will be confusable. Second, because locating a knob in a row of 8 would impose cognitive overhead.

I’m colorblind, so it’s all the same to me, for the most part. I still learned what does what, pretty clearly on the OG.

Fake. It’s missing the M5 button.

I must say screen looks much better in person,

  • I’m thinking that bootloader and main dsp spi boot are related to blackfin,
  • For BLE it probably has some kind of nrf chip inside with its own bootloader
  • I have no idea what’s backplane, what it’s function and does it has some kind of mcu in it.

Updates are taking a lot longer tho,

It first decrypts and then expands it. Expansion part takes a long time (in comparison to OG).
