Backplane would be the main board. I guess that the Blackfin does the DSP and the Backplane is the rest of the OS that controls any non audio system stuff (keyboard, screen etc)…

there are circular recesses for the velcro on the bottom. i was kind of surprised at how easily it comes off considering that its supposed to hold the op-1f by sticking it repeatedly to the other half of the velcro to some surface…

The only conceivable addition I could think they would add to an OB-4 Field would be a Line-out, but in the same way they have suprised us with unexpected/strange functionality, I feel like them just releasing a unchanged white OB-4 is also pretty high. TE is so unpredicatble.

Hey, I vaguely remember somebody mentioning TE is working on a drum utility app for the new op-1 field drum sampler?? Did I make that up or is that for sure happening?

Seems better than the original. To be fair, KaossPad 3 was made in 2006 and had absolutely none of the issues with sampling that OP-1 had, so we’re starting with a rather low set of expecatations.

how is the Dr. Wave engine? Or I guess all of them really, but I love the concept of Dr. Wave I just always found myself stuck with applying Nitro as an effect to filter out some of the crazy high end noise, which really limited my usage of it

Hi, this is my video. Just wanted to add that after getting the Field I’ll sell my OG with no regrets. As I said I don’t like the keybed so much, but in every other aspect the field is at least the same or better.

Anyone else still think it’s a bit weird there hasn’t been pretty much any OP1F hands on content from any of the bigger synthfluencers? I mean, I’ve got mine now… I would think the Andrew Huang’s, Jeremy Blake’s and Cuckoo’s of the world would have got theirs before me…

Yes, I think it’s extremely weird. It’s relatively easy content that’s guaranteed to get views. Mattias Holmgren recorded a review and it’s by far the most popular video in the last month both on his YouTube and Odysee channels. Clearly, there are a lot of people interested in info about Field. And it’s been more than 3 weeks since release.

OoraMusic (Federico) posted about how much backlash he got for his recent op-1 field video
Lot of hate out there, probably not a good time to put out content on it.
