New OP-1 Field 😮

Yeah, I guess that is the best option.

I swapped the keys and now they don’t get stuck anymore.

Nice!! I’ll wait for a reply from TE first. I suppose they will at least suggest doing the same thing before returning it… At least I hope so

Does anyone know whether you can plug a usb mic (that doesn’t require drivers) into the usb c port of the op-1 field?

I was thinking that since it’s technically an audio host/interface that it would work but don’t have a field yet to test it myself…

If anyone with a field and usb mic can test this that would be great!

just tested with a blue yeti. i had it powered via a small usb hub, then the hub plugged into the field. works as expected! just need to turn usb audio on in the shift + mic menu.

edit: just checked to see if the op could power the mic. and that is a no.

Okay, thank you for testing that!

Really glad it can at least work in a straight forward way;
still holding out to see if it can power usb mics that don’t require external power/are designed for iOS use (I’ve got a apogee hypemic which I’m hoping will work)

Then I think the OP-1F (on its way!) and the usb mic will basically be all I need for my all portable set up

Same here unfortunately

Yes, it works with my Blue Yeti with no external power needed - a single USB-C to USB micro-B cable went between the Yeti and the OP-1 and I can record in stereo from the Yeti into the OP-1 Field. However audio still plays out of the headphone jack or speaker on OP-1, the Yeti’s headphone jack only contains the mic monitoring nothing from the OP-1. So it doesn’t appear to send audio out to USB currently.

Interesting. I wonder what is different with my setup as it is working for me.

i’ll try again with other cables :man_shrugging:

I can’t easily do a video right now, but a passive adaptor or cable should work - mine is a black blue yeti I bought it used, unsure exactly what version it is. But it has miniUSB B under it, and I’ve checked and I used it’s own long cable that goes into that and ends in USB-A, into a very cheap USB-A to USB-C plug adaptor that was only a few dollars.

that is exactly what i am using, with no luck for me.

the usb audio in icon stays white with no red markings indicating a usb audio device is present.

I don’t know what is going on for you. That looks like the Apple adapter which I don’t own but have used at work and is totally passive and should be fine as far as I know. Here is a couple of pics, showing it working on mine. I wonder if there is a way to enable power in or out? I first tried sampling from iPhone via this adaptor going to a lightning cable. Dunno. In my pics you can see it’s picking up level from the sound in the room. Maybe a different generation of Blue Yeti? Dunno.

how many people are having this problem with the keys? was this a problem with the OG OP-1 too?
