I have the nagging suspicion that OP-1 Filed is so expensive precisely for the opposite reason - TE decided to do everything from the ground up instead of re-using prior solutions. If they used standard components wherever possible, there would be fewer issues and the device would be much cheaper.
Had OP-1 a couple of times, came and gone, came and gone. Now the OP-1 field for a couple of weeks. W.O.W. Thatās simply UNBELIEVABLE. New machine totally. Yes, it is an OP-1 upgrade, BUT. Never enjoyed any workstation like this one (and believe me I had almost everything from the music gear market - 50+ years of music experience). For example, the sampler is so smartly done now that itās the easiest now to sample (had many Akai/Roland/Boss ones before, know what Iām talking about). The sound quality is what Iāve dreamt for. Yes, Iāve missed the ping-pong delay, but counting that the TX-6 has it (judging from YT demos) I hope next updates will add it. No, guys/gals, really it IS overpriced BUT overpriced by a good reason. As of now, itās a solid keeper without any doubts. Period.
Wouldnāt that make it fairly priced then? ![]()
Exactly. Just re-wording, and sounds better ))
Has anyone been able to clock sync the OP-1F and the TX-6? I have them connected but clock is grayed out on the OP-1F. I am able to start the tape track from the TX-6 so far. thanks.
Another question: now having an issue with the sends on the TX-6. When I select a track to increase/decrease the send, I am unable to do so, and an icon with a down arrow in a circle is next to an āLā. I canāt see what this means in the manual, any help anyone?
Ah, ok thanks. Weird. But helpful!
The L with the Circle does mean you have configured your LOWER white potentiometer to be the send level. Then you can only use this to change it and not the normal way.
^ This is correct.
I was totally wrong here. Turns out itās (B) for Balanced input. Not L for line.
Oh, ok thanks! Even more weird, as I didnāt realize I did that! Luckily I had saved a scene earlier so I was able to revert to that.
Yes last week I got the op-1 Field, I have used the op-1 for 9 years so I am used to the workflow.
I used my old Sony stereo mic for sampling the sound of shaking a vitamin d bottle around my mic.
The results are great super stereo space effect with headphones and on the Ob-4.
Love the upgrade.
How do you connect the stereo mic to the OP-1F? Do you capture stereo image⦠L-R separation?
Stereomic in the mic input
Yes
Just to be sure⦠mic input (headset) or line input?
And could you share the model of stereo mic. Sounds interesting.
Yes the line/mic input.
It is a Sony ecm ms 907. I got it in the 90 ies for recording with my minidisc.
Thanks! Iāll test it then⦠I have the same from MiniDisc times.
hello @Hal9000 ! Did you solved the āsnapshot revertingā bug? IĀ“m having the same issue here. It doesnĀ“t happens all the time. Indeed, it seems pretty random. IĀ“m with the most updated firmware. Did you find a pattern/trigger?
Have to agree mate. The Mother reverb alone was worth the upgrade for me. Stereo path throughout makes it a dream machine - just sounds so good
Anyone modded the knobs on the field and more importantlyā¦do these wheels and parts end up damaging knobs? (maybe a bitter question for those who own the OG)
Why would you want to? Always made me cringe seeing lego wheels on the OG. Looks daft and doesnāt add any functionality
