My clicks are fixed. TE support emailed with #246 attached. Early Xmas. I hope this fixes all the clicks. I watched Mario’s video and he has heaps more clicks than I did.
If you are brave you can download my dropbox link a couple of posts above and have #246 right now.
No thank you. I’ll wait for the official release. No hurry.
This is funny for me because I know I would have a hard time trusting me as a random Gilgamesh but I also know that I got this firmware from TE and is legit and works ![]()
I only wonder why they didn’t email it to the others. I must’ve been the most annoying ![]()
I can’t wait to try it out! I don’t have my OP-1 with me now but I’ll try it as soon as I reach my studio.
I am very happy. Haven’t checked any other functionality but for me clicks is gone. Very happy.
It can be very hard to get technical issues across to people who aren’t super interested but…
We won!
Yep - got the e-mail as well and the clicks are gone ![]()
Good work!
Yeahh! thx a lot mate! Awesome ![]()
@Gilgamesh @helmetlampshade - did they add anything else with the fw or just the clicking bug fix ?
Tested it, annoying clicks are gone!!
Thanks @Gilgamesh and every other user who contributed in this!
Wondering when they are going to officially release it…
Until then I will enjoy my crackle-less OG-1 ![]()
I’m hoping it’s just #245 with clicks gone. I have constant experience of proper professional software having features added and something really important busted at the same time. I want them to consider OG-1 feature complete and only ever tweak performance and fix bugs ![]()
That’s a very fair point!
(Just curious to see if they added any stuff from the OP1F !)
High 5! I was totally bummed but then things worked out really quickly.
Sorry
I’m not trying to make points I’m just a massive wanker. I hope they do add features if they can but just have a banner over the OG-1 development 486 that says “Never forget #246”
I expect they will actually release #246 or #247 and release notes could say:
*General bug fixes
*Stereo everything
*Switchable projects ![]()
One feature that nobody talks about but I’m really missing is to have the selected synth engine output reflect the mixer panning, right now the mixer panning get’s bypassed when the synth page is selected.
This prevents me from using the OP-1 left and right outputs independently to feed them into individual external fx chains, I mean I can do it but I cannot improvise and play with synth parameters without having the synth sound going to both external fx chains.
It would also be really useful while sound designing stuff to put on the tape 'cause you’ll be hearing the sound panned the way you set the channel to be panned…
I haven’t noticed that but now you mention it that sounds like a good feature.
It’s probably tough because of some major designs decisions as nothing is stereo until you reach the mix->stereoFX->output stages and there is only ever one virtual “instrument” and that instrument isn’t explicitly assigned to a track but the machine just records whatever is available to whatever track is selected. If they thought it backwards they could end up saying it would be confusing for people if they came out of mix mode and the synth inherited the panning of whatever track they were on.
Yeah, I see why they did that, but it doesn’t necessarily make sense, think about it, since at least one out of the four mixer pages has to be selected, and it keeps it’s selection state, wouldn’t make more sense that the synth/drum page will remember that as well?
I guess it might be personal preference, however one way of doing it it’s more limiting for the machine than the other, that means we would never be able to use it in that way with 2 external fx chains…
However it’s not a big deal, we can still use it that way, we just cannot tweak synth parameters while doing it… at least we can use the accelerometer, I can live with that.
