Got a track down with the PO-20! I wanted to create something that we haven’t seen in a lot of the other videos. So this is a more chilled type of 8-bit music. Would be super happy if you guys would check it out and give me some feedback
Had my first jam with the new POs. Think the Robot is my fav so far to my surprise.
Nice beat. Yup, everyone’s been sleepin’ on the Robot. Why do you like it more than the Arcade though?
Not huge into chip sounds, albeit the Robot can be kind of Nintendo sounding but it’s less explicit and can do the most “normal” synth sounds of all the POs other than the Bass. I think of it as a lead compliment to the Bass.

Yeah, I don’t have the Arcade, but all the demos I’ve heard have worn chiptune on their sleeves, so I wasn’t sure whether that’s all it can do. Don’t get me wrong, I grew up with Nintendo and love those sounds, but the arpeggiator on the Arcade sounds a bit shrill to me. I like the more subdued “spooky” melodic tones of Legend of Zelda (and Zelda II!) and Super Mario Bros. and the Robot can get some of that. Easier to make those kinds of sounds fit into a non-chiptune song better. I just wish the Robot lead was sequenceable though, as I find trying to play it live rather awkward.

Working on a live set with the POs, think I’m gonna try and work out a little Robot solo
Anyone else still waiting on their orders to ship from TE? I bought the cases too so I know there was a delay on them. Seeing all these videos is making me impatient haha
It’s made with Final Cut Pro X. But you can do that layering in almost any video editor I think…
