Anyone know how the “auto off” works?
I left mine for about 4 hours and they are still on…
Auto-off is 5 minutes. You probably have the sync option set to slave, in which case it stays on forever…
Speaking of sync options.
It seems that these do not stay set.
I think I had to re-set this every time I disconnected the sync input.
Wonder if there is a way to keep it set?..
I put the sub and rhythm on sync 0 and 1, neither turn off.
It never turns off completely. In SY0 the sequencer/sound engine will power down but the screen will always remain “on” so that the clock/alarm function will stay on time.
Oh— the display aways stays on???
Ok, neato.
^ To be exact, at the 5 minutes mark, the 48MHz high speed CPU clock shuts down (thats when the LEDs turn off) and at 15 minutes mark the codec is shut down as well. The display driver is always on, driven by 32KHz low frequency watch crystal. The MCU keeps waking up every half a second and runs for about 120 micro-seconds to update the clock/alarm.
... and at 15 minutes mark the codec is shut down as well.
This may explain the pulse sent out the output some minutes after the machines power off.
Anyone having issues with the inconsistent volume of the POs when synced together? It happens everytime I sync them. Seems like the master volume goes up and down. Also, the last slave in the chain is extremely loud, am I doing something wrong here? Even if I set all three or just 2 POs to the same volume, the outcome is still the same
That’s the built in compressor and limiter kicking in. You’re not doing Anything wrong it’s just built that way.
There are a few ways to get around this and I describe them all in my ebooks about the POs:

When it is “sleeping” can you still see some graphics on the screen? Mine are unplugged/unsync’d and the lights go out after 5 mins, but you can always see some of the graphics.
@Virtual_Flannel That is correct! It sleeps most of the time to conserve battery and only briefly wakes up to update the clock and check the alarm.
My full graphics stay on, but the leds go out. Hiss noise is gone too!! I’m having trouble figuring out the mini drum machine on the sub. How the heck do you select different drum sounds to use on your pattern? Seems like I can only get one sound for the whole pattern.
Keep a step pressed on the drum sequencer and use one the left knob to change the drum sound, or record in live mode pressing 1-16 keys. There’s only on sequencer line for the mini drums, it’s mono.

Yes, it’s really fun since the 14/16’s drums are mono to just start by live recording something simple then fleshing out the extra steps with p-locks.
@virtual_flannel that’s what I do, indeed.
I use Volcas for sync and I mix everything in my mixer… Or in the OT
I can find the question about the rechargeable batteries : I noticed that when you’re close to the complete discharge, the PO keeps go on/off…
I don’t know if there’s a link but for each of the POs for which I noticed this, one of the battery was killed for good.
Maybe the batteries were bad, I’ll see in the future.
But it would seem that you shouldn’t let a low power rechargeable battery in the PO.
@sjdude The Rythm and the Sub were let 3 days without battery, they haven’t returned to factory presets.
So once you erase factory presets, they may be gone for good !
Re: Batteries. I was really scared when I first got my PO12 I had to pinch the battery holders to make contact and power it properly. After removing the batteries and carefully adjusting the battery holders, I reinserted the batteries and it was totally fine. The build on this thing feels solid, but at the end of the day its a circuit board with a a fragile screen on it. Def be careful with these, and cases are a must I think.
Hey y’all this one was a game changer, don’t know if its been mentioned. When chaining patterns you can press the same pattern multiple times and it will loop that amount of times. I.e if you hold pattern and press 1/1/1/2 Pattern 1 will play three times and then pattern 2. You can really do some heavy arrangement this way.
@Virtual_Flannel that’s a golden tip man, thanks! I’m assuming this for all POs. Haven’t had a min to chain patterns just yet, but its nice to know you can structure a full length song with these wittle pocketo machines. My single patterns go straight DAW, because I’m afraid I’d loose the pattern from a faulty move.

@Kites yes all the POs can chain patterns this way, and @Virtual_Flannel I agree with you it’s definitely one of the biggest thing in these POs (sound + playability being the other aspects I like).
