The NAMM Thread (22-25 January 2015)

Welp, the new Moog is just a huge modular for the 1% that happen to be musicians.

And the new Nord is the Electro 5

Fear not, Moog has some other stuff coming for the 99% : )

OH!?

Roland have announced a new AIRA product. My wallet is hiding.

Nearly NAMM time! Apart from my excitement at what’s coming from TE, one piece of gear I’m really looking forward to hearing about is the Korg Arp Odyssey:

There’s also the new Electro (5) from Nord and Arturia are supposed to be introducing a new-era audio interface, which sounds interesting.

Saw this on IDMf, Waldorf dropping a Eurorack wavetable module.

Who is gonna be there?

Sorry I’m heading to thailand for 3 months instead!!!

I’ll be officially going to NAMM for the first time in my life. Please feel free to pop my NAMM cherry (gently).
@dimi3 we should have an operator-1 meetup!

Does anyone think the PO-12 and announced gear will sell out completely at NAMM? I think I’ll just go on the weekend, unless the other days are recommended?

OMG!

How can this be on that magazine before even having an official announcement from TE or even a single TE report from NAMM. Looks good anyway  Note that the article talks about “a line of pocket operators” so we have actually 3 new synths coming:

PO-12 / rhythm (the one we’ve already hear about)
the rhythm is a drum machine with a 16 step sequencer with 16 different sounds which are a mix between synthesis and samples.

PO-14 / sub
the sub is a bass line driven synthesizer. it’s got a 16 step sequencer with 16 sounds and 16 effects/playing styles.

PO-16 / factory
the factory is a melody / lead-synth oriented machine with a 16 step sequencer, 16 sounds and 16 effects/ playing styles.

They mention a $59 pricepoint … Let’s see if this is true. Exciting.

Called it!!! This is amazing!!! Couldn’t be more excited! Glad we finally know too!

Lots more details on the “Something New” thread

NAMM is the real christmas, isn’t it

Des anyone know if they’re announcing anything else?

That IS the big question, isn’t it @22tape

I really wish I could have gone, once again I remembered it entirely too late and missed out on a chance to get a ticket :frowning: I’m in LA too!!!

If anyone wants to meet up in LA and do an OP1 jam session or something, shoot me a message?

@yoof: lol I’m certainly enjoying it more than Christmas. Korg launch event currently streaming live for those of you who are interested.

This NAMM show is giving me a long consecutive heart attack not just on the TE end. Wallet going extinct, mind is being blown.

New 4 voice analog from Akai!!!! Hopefully better than the Wolf. Pulled this from gearslutz, the post got taken down but grabbed the image first.

Also, new “big brother” of the new Roland alleged analog/digital hybrid. Hopefully another analog poly. Might be the year of analog poly synths!
