Here’s my latest OP-Z jam. Love this little machine! Man, I love jamming on the OP-Z - YouTube
Lovely stuff dude, really enjoy the journey this jam takes you on.
“In Vert” - Live OP-Z performance deep in the woods of Washington State.
I took my Teenage Engineering OP-Z deep into the woods near the Middlefork Snoqualmie trail system in Washington State and recorded a live set inspired by my surroundings. Everything was recorded in one pass into a Zoom H4n, then lightly mastered in Cubasis with the Fabfilter Pro-Q3 and Pro-L2 Audio Units.
Video was recorded with a Sony A7C and iPhone 12 Pro, then edited in LumaFusion on an M1 iPad Pro.
The set itself was created with 13 patterns in a single project on the OP-Z. All of the sounds except for a couple percussion samples are from the OP-Z’s stock instruments and samples. I make heavy use of the Randomize Preset function on the OP-Z to find new sounds, it’s a great source of happy accidents when it comes to sound design I find.
Hope you enjoy, happy to answer any questions people might have about the set too.
I made this one for the wedding of a friend (they rented a big house for a week to celebrate). I sampled people talking at the after party and some old piano someone played a few days later. Took me about 20minutes to mix it all up, it’s a live recording with the kaosspad mini. I just added some reverb, eq and compressor later in ableton. Still got the original recording on my soundcloud
testing trio setup with opz, op1, and norns
I was at my cabin in the country and made this outro for the Scriptnotes podcast on my OP-1 and iPhone. I tried out the new USB functionality to connect my phone via the camera dongle and used it to digitally capture some Fairlight samples and the dialogue I wanted to include.
It’s a clone of another song that I changed to include the podcast’s little musical signature. You have to include it. That’s the only rule.
Sounds super wonky as I’d never otherwise do this on the OP-1 — but it’s what I had with me.
Op Z with a slide gitar.
Roland SH2000, OP Z und Fender Preci……
Here’s one I finished today. One-take simple performance, OP-Z into Toneboosters Barricade for saturation and limiting.
OP-Z running a custom Ableton template I built, and a guitar in an abandoned warehouse playing some weird melodic techno. Hope you enjoy!
Sinedied, this is fantastic! I have limited myself to one-pattern tracks a lot, but never got as much variation as you have here.
Here’s a new one from me - all standard OP-Z synth engines / drums with some added compression in Audition:
Hi All,
First OP-Z track posting! One pattern only, making use of mute groups, Tape, and Master tracks! All composed and performed on the NJ Transit train ride from Middletown, NY to Penn Station, NYC, recorded output of OP-Z directly with USB cable into iPhone VoiceMemos App (“Lossless” setting) - Trimmed, Normalized, and fadeout courtesy of Audacity.
Cheers and happy Mabon (Autumnal Equinox),

Hey guys,
Here’s one song I had finished a while ago but never posted, so here it is !
Instrumental Hip Hop I think ?
Using only OP-Z stock engines, and a few vocal samples.
Some tape experimentation near the ending, love messing with it
